This only started happening recently, but whenever I click or open a link to ANN, I am no longer being automatically redirected to the subscription server. I have tried this on two computers (Windows 7 - Firefox 8, Mac OS X 10.7 - Safari 5.1), and have also tried emptying my cache and deleting cookies. I have also confirmed that the relevant check-box is still enabled in my subscription settings.
I can, however, log in to the subscription server when using a bookmark that goes directly there. |

Hi Raptor,
Could you try the following for me: 1) log out, 2) clear your cookies (or your ANN specific cookies), 3) log in, 4) go to animenewsnetwork.com/my/subscription/ , 5) click "redirect to subscription server" then "save." You should be immediately redirected to fast. Let me know if it does not work. |

I performed the steps you requested, and after step three I was redirected. Continuing on, I pasted animenewsnetwork.com/my/subscription/ directly into my URL bar, clicked the "redirect" check-box, and then save. At this point I got the green bar at the top saying "Your changes have been saved," but I was not redirected to the subscription server.
Clicking on the logo at the top of the page, and any link on the main page, continued to be in the "www" namespace. Manually changing the URL worked fine, however. |

I'm also experiencing this. If I come to ANN by directing myself at the fast server, it's fine, but if I don't (I often click through RSS links, for example, but it's not limited to that), I never get redirected. Attempting the steps suggested above gave the same results that Raptor got.
Windows 7, Firefox 10. Attempted disabling add-ons, did not help. |

This is odd. I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you.
I've tried this on Firefox / Win7 and it continues to work for me (I don't have access to Mac, but I'll get someone else to try that). Please use the fast URL for now until I'm able to offer you a solution. -t |

I've been seeing this problem come and go as I play around with more links and more browsing, but I think I may have found a the culprit. After I cleared all cookies (animenewsnetwork.com and fast.animenewsnetwork.com), I logged in and was redirected and things were looking OK. Then, while reading today's Hey, Answerman!, I changed the fast to www and clicked around again. I was then stuck on www no matter where I clicked.
I checked my cookies again and saw a new entry, this time for www.animenewsnetwork.com: ![]() Note the "avoid" content for subscription_server. I double-checked my setting under subscription preferences, and the check-box is most certainly active. I tried deleting just this one cookie, and lo, I was being redirected again! It seems that so long as I don't let this cookie get set, everything stays in working order. I can go about deleting this cookie as a workaround in the meantime, but I hope this helps debug things on your end. —Raptor |

Ok, I found out why it was happening. It's fixed now but you may or may not have to clear your cookies one last time.
