Want Funimation licensed anime back on YTV? Read and sign this petition if you do and if your not Canadian, just help us because there's hardly any much anime here!! http://www.petitiononline.com/AYTVC72/petition.html

This is why online petitions don't work. The last thing you want on your petition are signatures of people who don't count.

YTV probably won't be moved by this petition one bit, but on the odd case that YTV takes interest, they'll lose interest as soon as they become aware that you solicited non-Canadian signatures.

Better to have 50 Canadian signatures than 5000 American signatures.

Of course, the other reason that YTV won't care much for this petition is that it's poorly written, contains spelling mistakes, and most importantly, factual mistakes.

Quote:
Supposedly, YTV got mad at them and got a different version of the Dragonball series.

The reason YTV uses the Ocean dub for Dragonball Z is because the Ocean dub counts as Canadian content and can then be used to fill a part of YTV's CRTC mandated minimum Canadian content quota. If you paid any attention, you'd know that Gundam Seed and Inu Yasha are both dubbed by Ocean (in Canada), which makes them much more attractive to YTV.

There's a lot that should be done to get YTV to look at certain Funimation properties, but this petition isn't going in the right direction at all. You need to put more effort into the proper presentation, and research first. Then you won't fall into these problems and you'll have a petition worth signing...

There's an article on anime in Canada in issue 84 of Protoculture Addicts, and the author runs a great website on the topic here.

He is just giving you information, so there is no need to act childish about it. And well..online petition's do not really work out that well anyway.

Good, that makes my job easier. If you're not going to be civil and mature about this, I don't think there's any reason to allow further discussion in the matter.
