ok, as some of you may or may not know there is going to be an Evangelion Live Action Movie and can be expected to be seen anywhere between 2006-2010.The effects will be worked upon by the masters behind Lord of the Rings, Weta Workshop.. As far as i know at the moment
Shinji might be played by The Harry Potter Kid Asuka might be played by Hillary Duff Rei might be played by -Unknown- (Actor will have to have no emotions lol) Gendo might be played by -Unknown- ( lol Donald Trump would be good ) Misato might be played by -Unknown- Hideaki Anno will NOT be directing From the production images it can be gathered that the movie is set to feature "Ramiel" the cube with the wonderful drilling device. If they can get a studio interested in backing it financially, and that's a big if, and, over two years since the initial announcement (and over a year and a half after they made public the concept art), there's zilch in terms of news on that front. |

Those are some cheesy-ass rumors. Yeah, this movie was announced a loooong time ago, and I'll be very surprised if it ever was made. The concept art from WETA is so early, I don't anything about the movie could be judged by it. They were probably told just to come up with some stuff so that ADV could show it to people as they're shopping the script around to studios.

If there is ever going to be a live action Eva, I'll be furious. Eva is meant to be animated, let it be that way. If they really want to waste money like that, why don't they just re-do all the episodes again in Last Exile quality.

The fifth harry potter book has been out for quite a while, and spoiler[no she doesn't die, nor do I think that she will die in any upcoming releases.] However, in the recently released sixth book, spoiler[dumbledore dies.] As for the live action evangelion, I have to agree with Iemander, after all, I don't think the concept will work in live action. For example, the psychological scenes may not work as well as they do in the animation, and I don't think the mecha battles will be as entertaining (or disturbing). I don't think it should be re-made into better quality as the older animation gave it an effect in my opinion. |

the way only way eva would work in live action is if they got someone like David Lynch or Christopher Nolan to direct it, and i don't see either of them working with mecha.

God damn me and looking at spoilers... I really had no idea that the Evangelion live action movie was going to be an American production. I don't know if that makes my expectations better or worse... |

The Evangelion live-action project was announced more than a year ago, with these rumors also being almost as old. Not to mention they were both completely shut down within a day or two of their initial internet run. |

If they're going to translate anime to live action they should at least pick some series or films that would be fairly easy to do like Noir, Lupin the 3rd, Witch Hunter Robin or something else difficult to screw up. I have serious doubts an EVA live action, if it gets off the ground, will be any good. It's just too complex to do acurately and if they don't do it acurately there'll be a lot POed fans.
Which raises the question about a release here if it does get made. Probably a direct to video release unless they think others besides anime fans are going to want to see it. |

There apparently is a Lupin III movie in pre-production, and Sci-Fi Channel said something a while back about filming a Witch Hunter Robin TV series, but little has been said about either project since. |

I definitely wouldn't mind either myself and was especially looking forward to the WHR tv series don't have much hope for it anymore though.
