This has happened a couple of times to me in the past week. I try to get on ANN and get this message:
Sorry, it seems the server is a little overloaded at the moment... Why is this?... and don't tell me it's because the server is overloaded at the moment. :p |

It happens every night at 11:00PM Central Time (GMT -6 hours). I think they are doing some sort of database management.

Yeah, it's around midnight for me. I used to be on Central Time...but then y'all changed with that daylight savings time stuff. :p

   ; I'm going nuts! There's no rhyme or rhythm, it seems to be happening at random. It doesn't seem to matter when I visit or how many members are on ANN. I've even had it pop up with only 38 people here (43 today)! Usually it doesn't show up when I visit the main page, however it does it randomly everywhere else on ANN. Is a server down or is something wrong with it? Has anyone noticed this lately? Anything that is/can be done, I Thank-you  .

This has been a bit of a problem lately, and yes, we do have some plans to get it fixed.
We're currently looking into another new server. ANN will now be load balanced over more than 1 server. -t |

Ah I see, mysql was set to only 200 max connections. I've increased it to 500; let's see how it goes.
