That's a commercial?! I don't know what kind of time or money he had for these, but... if only more anime looked this spectacular (or were as well written; his 30 seconds tells me more than most series do in the first ep. or 2). Wow.

Those look so good. I guess they didn't skimp on the budget.
The "making of" videos are totally worth watching. The level of detail he puts in the frames with shading and highlights is rather astounding.

Damn, those were cool! I haven't seen a Shinkai film in years, but this makes me want to revisit some. I'd forgotten just how gorgeous his work is.
On another note, that first commercial made me want to go back to Istanbul.

If this wasn't post noting it was a commercial then I would have figured it would be a new movie coming out. He really makes anime look so clean and almost life like if one takes time to notice their surroundings. Astonishingly drawn.

If all (or even some) of the ads on TV were this well done, I might seriously consider not fast-forwarding through them .

Was thinking the exact same thing. Heck, considering a lot of the shows that are being aired on Canadian/US television these days, if commercials looked as good as the ones Shinkai produces, people might start skipping through shows to get to the commercials.

Heck, a lot of people watch the Super Bowl just for the commercials.
