I was wondering if anyone has seen any new info released concerning the english version of Naruto, I haven't really heard anything since CN announced that it would be on Toonami, though I did notice that on the cover of the May issue of Shonen Jump it says that Naruto is coming to US TV

Reread that, it's Bobobo-bo Bo-Bobo that's due for fourth quarter. Naruto is due in the third quarter which means we could see it as soon as July (but more likely September).

I heard it was going to come to CN in like August.I could be wrong though.I heard they were going to make it the last show on Toonami. So It'll probably be on CN in late August or neer the middle of August.

Alright, thanks all...hopefully we'll get some new info soon, especially seeing as how we're getting closer to the time frame that it's supposed to premiere

I was worried when they said that Naruto was premiering in the same year it was licensed. I hope ShoPro doesn't rush the voice acting because of this. Have any other anime licenses happened like this? Confused

Full Metal Alchemist...and it did just fine Smile

Shopro had a decent amount of time to get it done right. but for the studio it will be very difficult since so many people are used to the japanese voices. If they can provide a cast that will satisfy the hordes of Naruto fans out there, then they are gods.

So that premiered on that other station...(Kids WB?)...right after it was licensed/dubbed? (I just wouldn't say that about the CN version -- which is what I almost thought you meant.)

Actually, Naruto already made its US debut back in February at the Tokyo International Anime Fair Hollywood event. We'll still have to wait to see who gets the dub debut.

From TV Tome, who supposedly got it from Anime Insider:

News on the Naruto dub from Anime Insider

It says that Shopro will air Naruto in September, and the first DVD will be released in December. Although the Toonami version will be editted, the DVDs will supposedly be purely uncut. Shopro's reason for putting it on Toonami and not on Adult Swim is to boost the show's popularity.

Things that will be cut out or editted are as follows:

Any blood that flows out of a character (except for when Naruto stabs his hand).
Zaku's exploding joints in episode 40.
Sasuke's throat full of needles in episode 16.
Any cussing.

Things that will not be cut out or editted are as follows:

Naruto stabbing his hand.
The Sexy no Jutsu.
Blood that does not flow out.

Also, all of the ninja moves will keep their original Japanese names! (Such as: Kagebunshin no Jutsu, Sexy no Jutsu, etc.)

I can't verify it to be true but hey, it could be.

Wow, if what silverwings posted is true then I'm completely happy with their decision, unedited DVDs is all I've wanted to know about since the licencing was announced, well...now I'll I have to do is find an Anime Insider or just someone who can confirm that...
