Good to see that this iconic otaku landmark will be restored after it's untimely destruction. Very Happy

Since Gundam Wing was the first to be exported they should also build a statue for the Wing Gundam, I wouldn't mind if they built a Tallgeese.

Well, at least they're getting a lot of mileage out of such extravagant endeavor.

I can't see them building a JDM attraction based on which title was released first in a foreign market.

Gundam Wing was the first Gundam anime to be exported to North America, but hardly the first Gundam property to be exported outside of Japan.

For the majority of people around the world who are aware of Gundam, the first thing they think of when they think of Gundam is the RX-78.

I hope you're not referring to the hoax that it was damaged in the 3/11 earthquake.

Just curious, how long do you think it'll be up this time around? I know it was only up for a month in '09, but I have plans to be visiting Tokyo in the late summer/early autumn (September/October) and would really like to see it in person.

This statue will again look pretty nifty after it is up and the construction on the building behind it has been completed. I'm sure there will be some great lighting effects.

Looking forward to more video of the statue as it goes back up, especially with views of the Ferris wheel in the distance.

What? That was hoax? I hadn't heard that. Confused

Why is it "rising again" then if it wasn't destroyed? Was it just some exhibit they took apart?
