Normally I don't comment on this, but...

How did spoiler[Ed proposing to Winry] at the end of FMA: Brotherhood not make the list? It was amazingly awkward, and after watching the dub commentary on that episode, it almost makes it more awkward in the dub than in the original.

Nice list, but spoiler[Yang Wenli's proposal to Frederica Greenhill] should be on it.

What about the granddaddy of them all (especially the Ranma one):
Ataru Moroboshi+Lum
Ataru "proposes" to Lum by screaming that he wants to get engaged (to an entirely different girl) while trying to stop Lum's race from invading the earth. This then sets up the basis for the entire series where "wacky hijinks ensue".

What about Miroku's countless proposals from Inuyasha? (Will you be the mother of my children?)

But the best fillers by far are in Tokyo Mew Mew. Why? Because they expanded on characters, made them more interesting, and made you smile, laugh and cry. :3

Yet another person who did not watch Cross Game. Disappointing, but understandable.

EDIT: Also, isn't Code Geass an original work, not an adaptation? How could it possibly have filler?

LOL! I totally agree with Yuuri/Wolfram being no.1; so awkward yet so funny~

Soul Eater might have the best filler but that depends on how much Excalibur annoys/entertains you!

Maybe it's a trick question, to see if people complaining about filler really know when they're watching filler? Razz

Yuuri is not oblivious to the marriage, that would mean he is unaware of it; but hate to rain on people's parade but Yuuri is straight, he is not into guys which sets up a lot of the comedic moments in the series; he is fully aware of his allegded engagement but has no intention of going through with it; I have not seen the third season yet, but through the 3rd season he hasn't even hinted any sort of intention to go through with anything with Wulfram other than being friends

Not to try and start a big argument here. But I highly disagree with Gia's apparent definition of filler. For example, Code Geass does not have filler.

My definition of filler is an anime episode that has none of its material based on the manga, light novel, or whatever source material there is. Code Geass has no source material. And regardless, even if that didn't matter, I still wouldn't consider any of Code Geass' episodes to be full-on filler. Sure many of them may be silly, but there is still important information relevant to the overall plot sprinkled in them. Basically, there's no way that you could skip one of those episodes and still expect to be caught up on the story. So yeah, I'm not voting in that poll.

Some good choices for awkward proposals though.

There were no marriage proposals in FMA...

Hooray, Yuri and Wolfram! So happy to see them on this list, it feels like most people have forgotten about KKM... They wound up being such a cute couple, too. Anime catgrin

I want to complain about this too; Code Geass absolutely cannot be on that list for it was an original work of it's own, thus making it impossible for it to have filler.

In the last episode, there definitely was one. spoiler[Ed] phrased it cryptically, but spoiler[Winry] understood:

Quote:
spoiler[
Ed: Equivalent exchange. I'll give you half my life... So give me half of yours!
Winry: You really are dumb. You want half? I'll give you all of it.]

That said, compared to the marriage proposals that Gia listed, this one is less awkward, especially since the situation was a lot more heartwarming.

We need a "like" feature on ANN. Preferably one I can hit a hundred times. This proposal, from Legend of the Galactic Heroes, is simultaneously THE most awkward proposal EVER, and yet also one of the sweetest and most true-to-character.

Of course, spoiler[Reinhard's first proposal to Hilda via her father after their one night stand] was also pretty high up there on the awkwardness factor.

I have to nominate Slayers for best filler ever. A lot of the fans' most beloved episodes are absolutely nowhere to be found in the novels, but they're still hilarious.[/b]
