Is the Van Hellsing U.S. movie based on the Hellsing anime (or manga)? I think it is, but then wouldn't there be complaints?

The movie is actually Van Helsing, which probably is inconsequential. I haven't heard that the movie was based off Hellsing (though I do remember reading in EW that it was based very, very loosely off of Dracula if my memory serves me correctly) So, I doubt the two are related, but it's always possible.
EDIT: I did a quick search on IMDB, and apparently both Van Helsing and Hellsing are based on the character Abraham Van Helsing in Bram Stoker's Dracula. Ergo, while they're both based on another work, one wasn't based on another (sort of how Throne of Blood wasn't based off of Polanski's version of Macbeth, but rather they were both based on the Shakespeare play). Er, sorry if that's confusing.
