From what I've heard (and played) Gundam games are almost always terrible, but they sell like hotcakes in Japan. Maybe Japanese gamers have finally decided they've had enough of Bandai making third-rate cash-in games? Hopefully this will convince them to make some changes and produce some titles worthy of Gundam.

Would you rather it be the other way around?
They'd better as heck expect high sales, otherwise they wouldn't be here in the first place.

Even though it didn't do as well as expected in Japan I hope it still gets brought over to the US, the trailer on IGN looked amazing. Also, it is part of Project Pegasus which means it can't be a half-assed game like some others were.
I wouldn't say it did too bad since it was the #1 selling game in Japan this week by a good margin, unfortunately it just wont reach the sales numbers they had expected.

Maybe it would help if they didn't release a Gundam game every two months. You know, build up some anticipation, actually take the time to make it a good game...

I meant that Bandai brought the game here because they thought it would sell. If they didn't think that way, they wouldn't have brought it.
(How many otaku does it take to explain logic? ^^; )

Actually, though most Gundam games have been horrible, this game is REALLY, REALLY fun. Even if you know nothing about the series (I played it with lots of my friends who have never seen Gundam, they all adored it)

Maybe this one didn't sell because it was actually good for a change? Crap often sells better than good stuff, whether it's games or not.

That'd be really, really unfortunate if it was the case.

Feds vs. Zekes got a boost thanks to how it was already a big hit in arcades, so that kind of helps to explain why sales for that particular game were all wacky high.
This game could still sell quite a bit after more people have played it, but I guess we'll see. I don't think any of us should assume that it's crap simply because it didn't meet the crazy high sales they were expecting.

I've seen the game being played (I'm in Tokyo), it actually looks pretty good as far as I can tell. Of course, I've never seen a single Gundam series so it's not my bag.
But yeah, some stores have dropped prices down to $30 already. That's pretty bad by Japanese standards.

What? A quality Game selling in low numbers? Say it isn't so! I've never heard of such a travesty before!
Oh, and really nice of you to provide a source of evidence. Quite helpful.
