I'm biased in this. I'm not a fan of Gundam. I've seen the original movie, and it's alright, but I'm not a big fan of it. My favorite Gundam is 0083.

Macross gets my vote.

I abstain from the vote. I love them both.

Well, you have to take into account that Gundam is a MUCH larger universe then Macross. So it is kinda hard to compare the two. However if the question is the original Mobile Suit Gundam Vs. Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, I would go with Macross.
Now about Macross Plus Vs. Gundam 0083... That's a tough one...

Hands-down I'd pick macross, I just can't seem to get into (or follow for that matter) anything gundam-related. Tried watching some of it on CN, but I just didn't care for it & it seems kinda like the whole dragonball thing (never-ending). I hear about this & that gundam series and have hardly heard a series name repeated yet - just how many are there???

Besides, Robotech & Macross have been favorites of mine for many many years & will always be that way Smile

Macross, Robotech is sweet, excpet for the episode that the pilot, I forgot his name, the big guy, spends most of the time talking about how he can not wait to go to the ship and eat a nice big steak, and when he does getback right before he eats it he has to go out and fight and ends up dieing becasue he does not change modes fast enoug... poor guy only wanted a nice steak.

Well, there is the original UC (Universal Century) timeline which consists of 10 Animations: MSG, Zeta, ZZ, Char's Counterattack, F91, Victory, 0083, 08TH MS Team, 0080, and G-Saviour.
Then there is the AC (After Colony) Which is Gundam Wing and Endless Waltz
FC (Future Century?), Which is G Gundam
I forgot what the timeline name for Gundam X.
And I believe Turn A happens in our timeline (y'know 2050 or something like that. I could be wrong though).

So, it's pretty big I guess...

Actually the one Omnez was aking about was Ben Dixon. Roy Fokker died in the episode before Ben buys the farm.

I've watched robotech which I lent of friend and Im considering buying it on DVD but want to know if robotech or the original macross is a better buy?(taking in to account both the quality of the series and price). Is the original macross still available from animeigo in any form?I know the collectors boxset sold out because it was limited but am not sure if they still do the mini boxsets.
