NOOO I can't believe they got this series. Now they're going to censor the hell out of the series. Curse you 4kids....you ruin One Piece and now you're going to ruin Kappa Mikey
*end fanboy sarcasm. |

ya know, the thing that really gets me is that fact that this piece of news says it's going to be airing on Nick, personally I'd figure it'd go on 4kidsTV or CN

Interesting premis, but seems waaay out of place on Nick. I mean, a show about a struggling American actor who's becomes a hit voice actor in Japan just doesn't seem right on a network that rarely shows any real anime. Thing is, that type of real-world animation doesn't fit anything but Nick and maybe the Disney Channel. They call it partially an "action" series, but I have a feeling they're using that term loosly. I plan on watching just to see how it turns out, but I can't imagine where this concept came from.

I am now seriously thinking that 4Kids picks out these shows in some Alcoholic daze throwing darts at a dartboard with random Anime images.

Yea, I thought MTV was the one who worked on creating this (of course Nick is part of MTV, right). |

Has anyone seen this show?
I managed to see a image for it but it barely looks like anime to me. If anything it could pass for an American cartoon. My question is where was this show produced and what type of crazy humor are we expecting? Considering not many Americans are going to know what a "kappa" is. I've too have never heard of Kappa Mikey til today. And according to dictionary.com kappa means:
Relating to or characterizing a polypeptide chain that is one of two types of light chains present in immunoglobins. Here's a link to this definiton. |

It's not supposed to be an anime. It's apparently about an American actor who moves to Japan and becomes a very popular anime voice actor. If done right I'm guessing the animation will intentionally have a very non-anime look to it so that when anime is shown in this series the line will be clearly drawn. And I'm guessing they'll explaine what a kappa is in the show.
Try this definition. Oh, and to be honest I thought this announcement was for the license of "How to Raise a Kappa". And it wasn't, go figure. Emerje |

With that said we'll see how it turns out. Man 2006 is still a long way off. You sure they couldn't start this sooner?
Well, I'm curious to see it. |
