I have both "Plus" and "Be Human" and I enjoy them both. My favorite tracks are "Run Rabbit Junk", "Inner Universe", "Fish~Silent Cruise", "Spotter", and "Piece by Ten".

What can you say about the soundtrack? It's awesome!

Sure, I can help you. "Aeria gloris" is indeed a latin phrase and it means "For Great Glory" or "Heavenly Glory". As for the phrase that follows it, if you're asking about "Nalyubuites', nalyubuites'" it is oftern translated as "watch in awe" which I find to be fairly accurate. |

In some ways, lines like this one make you wonder if Yoko Kanno used the movie as a reference for her GITS: SAC soundtrack right from the start, which was hinted at also in Chiroptera Rex's first post above. (spoiler[In particular, the scene at the end where Kusanagi sees the "angel" approaching her.]) |

But the line Chiroptera Rex was referring to doesn't exist in the Japanese version of the movie, so I doubt she even knew about it. Unless.... she watched the movie in English and translated it back into Japanese (she's so eccentric I wouldn't put it past her.. ![]() |

Sorry, I meant to say "did the lyric writers use the movie". Thanks, Cloe.

I didn't notice until just now that the lyrics for Cloe are actually credited to Gabriela Robin. It doesn't matter much anyway since Gabriela Robin is *coughsKannocoughs* Rather ironically, guess what song I was listening to when I happened across your post. ![]() Yeah, I've memorized the lyrics to soo many songs in a madeup language. With all the stuff from Macross Plus, Arjuna, Turn A, and Escaflowne, my mind is filled with meaningless words. " Fendia queti melia Dufabius quenti formi Lemidius lundwe Fendia queti melia Dufabius quenti formi Lemidius lundwe Faquana belinga (belinga) aah.. Faquana belinga (belinga) aah.. Berque ti us" |

He he. I was thinking of starting a thread based on this very speculation (since I believe this as well) but I can't imagine it's not been asked before, and I don't want to annoy people. ![]() Fendia greti meria Bifamius quenti formi weni di wo sunde* *repeat Faht gena belinga (belinga) aah Faht gena belinga (belinga) aah Berque di us Yours looks more like a real language when written down, though. ^^ Last edited by Cloe on Fri Apr 15, 2005 11:30 am; edited 1 time in total |

Amazing how two people can come up with oh so similar, yet not the same "words" when listening to a made-up language. ![]() |

I found more than a few sites on that when I did a search: - Gabriela Robin in the Wikipedia - ANN own page on Gabriela Robin - Gabriela Robin fansite Actually, that third link really has a lot of good cross-references for the speculation that they are one and the same -- that Edward was based on Kanno herself, and Edward does tend to speak in nonsensical phrases, so logic suggests... Well, this material would be a start to such a thread as Cloe mentioned. Back on track, what do you think is the worst song / music track on the GITS SAC soundtrack? For me, it's still Lithium Flower. It just, well, doesn't make any sense to me... |

Well I don't necessarily hate it, but I kind of dislike "Beauty is Within Us" by Scott Matthew. I just don't like how he goes from singing to whispering at the end of each "beauty." And while we're on that subject, a friend of mine once said that this song reminded him of U2. I don't think it does, but what about any of you? |

It definitely isn't U2 sounding. When I hear it, I think of a cross between Coldplay and Ash (if you are familiar with either of those Brit Rock bands). I actually like that song alot. I don't think he is whispering anymore than he was in the rest of the song, but the music gets much stronger at the end, so he kind of gets consumed by it. My least favorite on GITS: SAC OST would be GET9. I just don't think it fits well on the soundtrack because it sounds too Funk-lite whereas the rest of the soundtrack is more techno/ambient/rock. |

Coldplay, huh? I never thought of that. I guess it sort of does sound similar, but the Coldplay songs I really like usually have a piano or acoustic guitar rhythm. "Beauty is Within Us" has something else (a percussion instrument, I think, which is kind of motonous around the beginning) with drums. Also, Scott Matthew sounds nothing like Chris Martin, or even Dave Matthews (who I use to get confused with Martin, sometimes ![]() |

That's so interesting, Glory Questor! Thank you for those. (I'm a hardcore Yoko=Gabriella believer myself!) The Sharon Apple theory is really, really interesting. Another piece of evidence, though... in the Macross Plus OVA credits, vocals for "SANTI-U" are actually credited to Kanno(!) but on the soundtrack they are credited to Ms. Robin. But we'll never know for sure! (Gah, I really want to start a thread just for this now, but speculation threads are frowned upon, aren't they?) Back to the topic, I don't really like "Yakitori" very much. But then again, I'm always in a hurry to get to "Stamina Rose, so I may keep skipping it for that reason. ^_^ |
