I dont understand why the Japanese are always so averse to wearing wigs. Female Ranma has read hair, not brown. In negima, like 1/4 of the girls have brown or black hair, the rest have exotic colors. I know the Japanese are really cheap when it comes to live action which is why there horror movies suffer despite good story telling but It cant be that hard to wear a wig or contacts.

To their defense, the live action female Ranma does have a red tint to her hair.

Yea but is it that hard to go with just straight up red hair, and in general the live actions take little effort on things that seem like they would require trivial effort.

Yeah, ditto... my first thought was 'Oh good god.... a panda suit' but then I realized it's better than any crappy CG that would have occured... lol. It'll be good for some lulz, later.

Least that explains if the Panda form of Genma was going to be either CGI or a guy in an animal suit. I would accept either one for a live action shoot.

It's probably because the brown looks better than a bright neon red would for a real life adaptation. I think the brown is a suitable interpretation for "what would this look like in real life...?"
But then again...
That panda...
(Similarly, in the Higurashi live action movies, I was disappointed they didn't make the effort to match hairSTYLES with the characters, but I think it was completely the correct choice to leave them with normal Japanese haircolors instead of, say, green and blue wigs.)

Maybe more like the Fifth Element red.

I can't believe no one commented on that other picture, of this so-called "villain", this is atrocious!! I know Ranma is a comedy, but that's pushing it a bit
The panda's cute, I'm sure that'll be good for the humor of it.
