as much as I would love to see this to become a major hit and have everyone watch it and Miyasaki gets the exposure and recognition he deserives..... I'll believe this when I see it.
I seriously doubt this movie will get the support it deserives.
but i will cross my fingers and hope they actually support this movie.

It's risky, but it might work. The cast certainly sounds interesting enough. Lauren Bacall? Jeez.
The timing might be about right, too - there's no Potter movie this year, and Disney's own Narnia movie isn't until December, so if (and I PRAY they do this) they advertise it as a straight-up fantasy movie people might go see it.

I think he meant there's no HP movie this summer like in 2004. A November movie won't compete with a June movie.

No, I meant this year because for some reason my brain said so. That'll teach me to trust my brain ever again.

Whoa, now that was quick! I guess they want to get it out in the states here as quick as possible.
Usually, it take awhile. But then again this isn't a DVD release deal like the stuff that are included in the Disney/Tokuma/Ghibli deal.
All this time I was thinking that this flick would take awhile to get released here. Of course I wasn't thinking. I'm still thinking about the other stuff. LOL!! What was I thinking?
I'm glad that it's finally coming out here. I know that fans have been eagerly awaiting to see his adaptation of the book, not to mention why it made a hit at the box offices.
I hope that it's going to be in the big theatres. Of course we're eagerly awaiting it as well, as it will be on the list of anime to be ordered for the library's collection once the DVD becomes available.

The people on the Miyazaki Mailing List seem to be taking the 700-800 screen estimate as a rumour for now.
We'll wait and see, I guess, but that sounds a bit optimistic.

we shall see how this will be released. If they screw this up I won't watch anything Disney produces again (thats a promise).
The original voice of the caladrin was a comedian (with a unibrow). I think Billy Crystal will do pretty well. Gene Simmons is an interesting choice. Maybe they have a voice actress to match Gene's voice when she was younger.
This better get a lot of press. There were a lot of TV spots on Taiwan TV.
