Well...in Japan at least.
Bandai has announced that it will be bringing mobile suit gundam to UMD in japan, Although they have not made it clear which iteration of the long running series they are going to release. http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/03/03/news_6119664.html |

does anyone know the prices of these UMDs for movies
cause I'm betting they will at least cost 30 bucks and will probably come with no extras I rather just buy a portable dvd player, most now cost around 300 bucks which isn't to bad considering you can use them has a normal dvd player too |

I have a feeling that, if the UMD format really takes off in the US, that Sony will release their popular anime titles on the format (which means we'll get CBTM, Steamboy, and possibly Metropolis)

Say, doesn't the GBA do all that too. *Await the flames.* I keep hearing the DS got something in the works as far as what PSP has in mind for media (Divx, MP4, yeah rumors). But, much like the PS2 and X-Box, I play just games. They can make it in to a PDA as much as they want to, as long as it has great games on it. And telling from the lineup, it looks good.

At least one place is taking preorders for it: http://www.dvdsoon.com/show-title-details.xml?uid=138567 They list it as arriving in May. And there's also this page over at Sony USA: http://www.sonypictures.com/homevideo/catalog/catalogDetail_DVD043396113343.html which says UMD, and has no box art, unlike: http://www.sonypictures.com/homevideo/catalog/catalogDetail_DVD043396090552.html which is for the DVD version... |

If you have the brightness down low and volume off, around 8 hours. However, brightness all the way up and volume max - 5 hours. Say way from long road trips and international flights with PSP. I didn't take in the back light because you have to be under really friggn' good light source not to need it. |
