Just a quick correction that "One Missed Call 2" was not directed by Takashi Miike but rather Renpei Tsukamoto.

(BTW I had to create this topic manually. The "discuss this in the forum" link in the Katsucon article wasn't working.)

Oops, thanks. That's been corrected in the article.

I think the issue is that you need to eliminate the middle part of the link that includes "convention" whenever you put up a forum link for a con report. That seems to be the issue with the Katsu reports, anyway.

Going back on topic, Yay for Rayearth box! Even though it's insanely depressing that you can get 20 episodes out of 3 graphic novels, this rocks!

Interestingly, Sirabella said that there were numerous companies (he didn't mention whom) pursuing the Battle Royale license, but despite the bidding war, the Japanese company was being a total hardass about it.

I just hope Media Blasters keeps the name Ah! My Goddess, and dosn't change it like Animeego did and call it Oh! My Goddess.

Funny you mention that because Kosuke Fujishima has stated before that he prefers Oh! My Goddess because he thinks it's clever, and closer to what he was trying to get at.

That seems really strange that Toei is being all uptight about liscensing Battle Royale. How'd the UK distrubutor (Tartan, I think) get it, then? Are they still holding out that some big movie company would get the rights for a theatrical release?

Or, perhaps even stranger - want a US remake in the vein of The Ring/The Grudge? That'd be... interesting.
