Use an exacto knife. Or sand paper. Personally, I gnaw them off with my teeth, there's a good visceral feedback to that.

Yeah, that's about all you can do. However, I don't like to use an Exacto knife unless the spru is in a tight place because they have thin blades that can break on a hard or thick sprue. I like to use a sharp pocket knife since they're sturdy and wont bend or snap when I'm cutting. There are tools made specificly for cutting sprues, I know Testor makes one, they're basicly wire cutters though.

The best thing to do is to apply some putty on the affected area. Depending on the quality of the putty, you may have to wait at least 1-2 hours before it dries. Once dry, sand the area until it's even with the rest of the surface.

BTW, this is an anime forum, not a model kit forum.

On thick sprues, you can also sometimes use the Exacto flat blades. They're rectangular looking, with the blade on the short end of the rectangle. They're sturdy enough that they won't snap on thick pieces.

As for when it cutting too deep, just throw some putty on it, let it dry, and then sand it even later, like A7 said.

Yeah, but we don't have a model kit forum, and because Gundam models are associated with anime, this is a perfectly acceptable topic to have here.

Thanks again everybody. Now I can get to work on the 1/144 scale Tallgeese, 1/100 scale F90 Gundam A/D/S, 1/100 scale F91, and 1/100 scale Vigna Zirah I got yesterday. Cool
