I see that the American release of Tokyo Underground is going to be soon and was wondering what everyone's thoughts on the show were. The show sounds interesting, and I'd like to get others opinions on it. Thanks.

It's like other anime that is based off of manga and finished up long before the manga ended: great story, up until the ending.
It's a great action anime, IMO, on the entertainment level of other action series like Scryed, etc. However, the ending really felt forced.
I think it's worth a look if you love action series. Otherwise, I'd say rent it, then see if it's worth buying. I'm not sure I'd buy it, but it's FAR FAR FAR from being an anime that isn't worthy of being bought.

IMO, Scryed is far superior to Tokyo Underground. The show has a few funny moments and some decent action scenes, but not much really made it stand out in my mind, except for the lesbian-fetish op they started using halfway through the series. Sir_Bass is right about the pacing of the series; in the last episode all the villians that were basically invincible throughout the series are taken care of with a few sword flicks. I think there are better things out there to spend your money on, but give it a quick rental and you won't be dissatisfied.

I agree with that.
Tokyo Underground is not original. It's full of deja-vu.

Indeed - it always seemed like it wanted to go somewhere and push the envelope, but instead it always stopped short and stayed in the land of generic. I'm hopeful that the manga is beter, but I've simply not read it to determine anything.
