its hard for me to explain but i'll give it a try:
Well Tokusaw(sp?) was sent into that clinic to investigate the hacking of some classified gov't information. When he gets in there he gets assigned his own group to look after. One of the kids he looks after is this boy in a wheel chair named Aoi(sp?) . Their is also a girl in the group who is a really good artist and who has drawn a picture of Aoi. While pushing Aoi around the facility he sees the director leave her office. So Tokusaw broke into her office and tried to find out some information by hacking into the director's computer database. During this time the director catches him and Tokusaw is attacked by a giant cyborg that patrols the hallways. Tokusaw shoots and kills the cyborg to only be knocked out by the director. Afterwards the attack barrier knocks out the director as she tries to find out information from Tokusaw's brain. After that scene you notice that what Tokusaw shot was a marble statue. At this time Aoi gets up and explains to the other patients at the clinic that it was time for him to leave. In his hand is the girl's picture of him. In the end Motoko finds out that everyone in the facility had their brains cyber hacked and no one knows of anyone by the name of Aoi. Tokusaw comes into the room after recovering and shows everyone a sketch of the boy from the memoryhe had in his cyberbrain. When he shows section 9 the sketch it turns out to be the picture of the laughing man. hope that helps |

It helps a lot, and it explains a lot, but make sure to use spoilers.

@Twilight Dragon - I think it's the way you said - sort of like Aoi's a spoiler[willing "host" for him. Aoi seemed to be pretty much paralized, and could barely make noises, let alone talk. But, you knew there was some brain activity there, as evidenced by his getting upset with Togusa for taking the catcher's mit. Somehow, though, the Laughing man seemed to be "channeling" through him. ]It was a very cool episode, and the way it twisted around in the end was brilliant!

Note: the above is about Portraitz, which was aired on 1/22/05.
I wish to open up a discussion about Escape From, which aired last night 1/29/05. And there's no point in making a new thread, so... What did everyone think about it? I really liked it, and I believe it is episodes like this one that make GitS:SAC so good. Unlike some episodes that are about the big hacker or villian (i.e. the Laughing Man), Escape From was on a more cultural level. Concentrating on a little known movie director and his movie instead. Don't get me wrong, I'm hooked on the laughing man too. What I also liked, was that this show had more about the Tachikomas, and we got to see a little into their world. Kinda like Jungle Cruise was for Batou. Anyway, this show continues to amaze me, and in my opinion, it's right up there with the best of them. |

I thought it was pretty good, cause it was an insight into the tachkomas, and it showed bato getting his a** chewed out by the major. It showed how some people tend to retreatr from reality into their cyber brains.

This show just keeps getting better and better, I really liked the last batch I watched on vol. 4 (Episodes 13-16). Wish it didn't take so long to release them though.

Apparently, the "natural" oil had proteins in it that interacted with the tachikoma's AI causing it to wake up early and leave the facility. Not sure what they meant by "natural" oil, though. Somehow, I'm guessing that Bateau didn't lube up his tachikoma with canola oil! |

oh, ok now i get it. The Oil had caused the problam to the ai. Dang, never tought that it would effect the AI unit. How did it get to that part of the Tachikoma?

Dunno, probably the oil is used to cool down the AI unit and overflows? So, what do you all think about tonites episode? Pretty good IMO, nice brain teaser about spoiler[who really was the leader of the clan and who the "old" lady really was] agumented by some nice mindless action. ![]() |
