A long time ago, I read some really funny anime capsule summaries. I believe it was "T.H.E.M. Minute Anime" but www.themanime.org has completely changed since then and the minute reviews don't seem to be there anymore. The point of those "minute anime" was to poke fun at various series by summarizing them in a ridiculously brief yet oh-so-recognizable way. For example, the Evangelion summary went something like this:
Another characteristic of those minute anime was that descriptions where peppered with capitalized words to underscore the "crucial plot points", like this Saber Marionnette J summary I found here :
So... would someone happen to have a backup/copy of those minute anime summaries lying around somewhere? Or post your own here... if you think you're funny enough

The feature was called Reduced Anime. I'm *still* looking for where I backed that up ... we managed to recapture some of it in the Wayback Machine.

I was thinking that all short anime reviews should be in haiku form.
Ex: Pita-Ten Glomping girl next door Demon roommate who likes to cook Let the sugar flow Evangelion Whiny boy with robot an ice queen and a loud b^t#h the end of the world? |

Damn it... I did a bunch of movie haiku last summer, but only one of them in my blog is anime. I could have sworn that I did a Kiki's Delivery Service one.
Tenchi Muyo! in Love Mom is in trouble, Back in Nineteen-Seventy! Fight Kain in Tokyo! EDIT: Oh, I found some more I did. My Neighbor Totoro Mei and Satsuki, Think they see fuzzy creatures. Their dad plays along. Kiki's Delivery Service Young witch in city! Life is tougher than I thought. Magic gone? It's back! |

We tried that for a while -- that was fun. Of course, this was *years* ago when our knowledge of anime wasn't nearly so good.

Good try Tenchi, but the point is not actually to summarize the anime but rather to oversimplify it to the extreme. Case in point, Akira:

Hmm. I had a look at them, and they weren't really as funny as you'd made them out to be. Well, the Evangelion one was, and so was the Utena one - but the rest were pretty dull stuff. "I think we can do better than that." - abunai |
