It's basically like an extended episode of Trigun (one of the really good ones).

Looks like Bosch slipped right back into Vash. And perfect casting with Swasey as Gasback!

I haven't seen this series in years. Should I rewatch it before this movie, or is it fine to see this by itself?

(I'm assuming I risk missing some inside jokes, but watching the entire series again is a lot of work lol)

You only have to rewatch the series if you want a long trip down memory lane.

I only recall one inside joke, but it was a prominent enough one that I would agree with HfS. Rewatch the series because you want to, not because you feel a need.

How far into the series is the joke?

I just love the character designs. They look a lot like the ones in the previous anime series, yet it is improved somehow, and more akin to the way the characters are drawn in the manga. I am interested and look forward to seeing this.

I had been hoping to hear the replacement Merril, Millie and Wolfwood, but oh well. I would have liked to see more diverse scenes. Both seem to show Vash in his 'silly hero' behavior, which is distinctive of the character and can be amusing or endearing, but can't go on too long before becoming irritating.

It sound pretty nice, all told. I wouldn't mind watching it, but even though I liked the series a lot, nothing I've read or seen really inspires me film out.

It's both really weird and really awesome to hear JYB as Vash in a new anime. It's like I'm 15 again and digging around in my library's DVDs to discover new anime.

It's great to see JYB back in his first iconic anime role! It's amazing how 10 years later, he still hasn't lost what made Vash so awesome as a main character.

Looking forward to seeing the movie once it comes out on DVD!
