I think it is the best manga that I have ever read, so far. And probably will ever read. I am a GTO freak,

As seen in the favorites section, GTO is my favorite manga, anime, and live action drama series.

The character development, story, and uniqueness make it very interesting and engrossing to read. Especially the interaction between Onizuka and his students, whether they are pulling pranks to get him fired or having healthy interactions with each other.

The only thing that troubles me about GTO, is during volume 19 spoiler[when Uchiyamada "supposively" finally turned over to favor Onizuka was against him becoming a full fledge teacher. It feels like a very big contradictory especially when in the begining of that volume he was trying to save Onizuka's job because it was him who framed him and it was Onizuka who got the students to love going to school.]

I still haven't warmed up to the Daimon arc either. Maybe after a few read overs when the series finishes I would be able to like that arc.

Daimon...can you refresh my memory? Unless, of course, you're reading the Japanese un-translated manga and you're ahead of the American releases.

I'm really looking forward to purchasing the series because it's, in a word, great. I like the way it started out with Onizuka appearing as nothing but a pervert, then gradually having him win all his students over. But he's still got that little part of him from the very first book when he uses some strange comment about porn as an unexpected icebreaker...

There are also some small...type in the edges of the main frame that add to the goodness of the series, such as when, in the early volumes when Murai still hates Onizuka and he's asked if he's calcium deficient. Does that really make you lose your temper more?

Definitely a must see/read.

The American release is up to 21, volume 22 is out in a week. Daimon is the new female vice principal, spoiler[who is planning to wreak Chairlady Sakurai's status quo and demote Onizuka.]

GTO is pretty average at best for me. It starts out really fun, but like many longer shonen manga, gets old and boring, and basically falls into mediocracy IMO. I'd still recommend for people to read it, just with some reserves.

IMO. What does that stand for?

By the way...I've already read up to Volume 22 in English, released by Tokyopop. I think it may be 23...

Unfortunately, it's ending in about two volumes.

G.T.O. is pretty cool. Its funny how all the gear heads in my class think it has something to do with cars. I've only read up to volume 13 (got it all out of the library Very Happy ) but I like it.

Yeah, man. Long time ago. The first 22 volumes are already out. Probably won't have them where you live though...

Yeah true, spoiler[but then during the episode where they were showing the video of Tomoko, she was pretty.] I think. In the beginning I really didn't think much of the appearance of the characters, I was hoping Onizuka would resemble Onizuka from the manga. But...oh well.
