Wow this is surprising. I thought for sure that Viz would go after this series given that the manga seems to be seeling well for them and Death Note is still one of their best sellers.
I;m glad to know it;ll be dubbed though. Hopefully the release won;t get too bogged down with delays

So can we assume that Zetsubou Sensei just going to rot on the vine?

With Anime Expo coming up this weekend, Media Blasters are probably saving the big title for then.

Wow! Media Blasters is licensing GOOD stuff for once! I love Squid Girl, and I have friends who love Bakuman. I hope they license other good stuff (like Natsume Yuujinchou or Tokyo Magnitude 8.0) soon!

Media Blasters is doing fairly well for themselves, which makes me happy.
I mean, the Bakuman Anime was a travesty that no one should be forced to watch, but the manga is still pretty popular (and a hundred times better).

Its media blasters, they haven't licensed an A-list anime title since Rurouni Kenshin. What do you want them to license? The third Evangelion movie?
There biggest titles in the past few years have been ecchi fare like Queen's Blade.

Given all the things planned for that franchise's anniversary this year, I'd imagine people would hope that Media Blasters would be involved.

Titles are rarely licensed that far ahead, we don't even know what the Rurouni Kenshin project is. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood was licensed about a week before it aired, so have patience.

So Moribito, Genshiken and Tweeny Witches aren't quality titles in your mind?
I kind of get what you're saying but that lack of respect for MB over the last few years has me confused. And at this point every publisher has its Queens Blade. Sentai has Needless and Samurai Girls, and Funi has Freezing and Sekirei.

Yep. They haven't said a word about it and it's now it's more than a year past the one release date that they had given it.
I have no idea why they have sat on that property for so long. If it's cause of Japan, then they should just say so. If it's because they don't think Americans will buy something that has intelligent, social commentary/satire mixed with dark humor then they should just say so. The bottom line is that they should say something about it, and they have failed to do so. They're getting to be as poor as Viz in regard to their interaction with their fanbase.
Bakuman ain't my thing, but I know it has a lot of fans, or at least the manga does. Hope the anime does well for MB.
