Claymore coming to an end? If I was a betting man I'd say... Volume 23.

I just finished reading this volume myself yesterday and I have to say, I'd forgotten some of what happened in the previous volume. Curse these extended release dates!

Sadly, I've also forgotten some of the character names. I mean I remember the names, but I can't remember for sure who is who anymore. Like page 184, Is that spoiler[Cynthia] laying there? Ugh, I'm pathetic. At least there's google image searches.

What I always enjoyed about his work is that is that he uses chunks of clothing missing as an analog for the part of the Claymore that was destroyed, just like in page 184. Ouch, that must have really, really hurt and it's lucky they're all running around as partially awakened beings.

As for Riful and Dauf... Sad

I just began re-reading from volume 1 to make sure I'm up to speed for the latest release. This story definitely has its flaws, but I sure do enjoy it. I'm sorry to read that the Viz release has some smudge marks, etc.

Riful and Dauf Crying or Very sad

Also Next Volume should Be called : spoiler[Priscilla and her mighty hax. Costaring Phantom Miria in Bad Life Decisions]

spoiler[That is till you find out Miria was using hax too and lived lol.]

But man do I love this series. I cant really see how some people have trouble telling what's the difference between characters. Laughing
Eh I think this could go to volume 25 or 30 they still have not even got to the mainland and lots of other plot points. spoiler[Plus god knows when Yagi's gonna get back too Clare in the recent chapters.]

Forgetting is a combination of being away from the series for an extended period and characters like Cynthia and Tabitha not standing out in my mind.

Unless there's somebody more insanely powerful than Priscilla, I don't think the story will extend to the mainland. It will probably end with "the organization is gone. what do we do now?" "why, the mainland of course!" and then roll credits.

Which is why I'm betting on roughly volume 23. The two reasons for my prediction (which I'd have no problems if I was completely wrong) are that while it's a great series, it doesn't quite have the huge following of the other medieval-ish hack and slash (Berserk) nor does it have a weekly TV show that it needs to keep feeding with story (just pick one...).

Anyway it's just a guess. I hope Mr Yagi has tons more awesomeness to unveil as the months go by and I hope that Viz media sees the series as financially viable and finally that people realize that the entire industry can't sustain itself on the popularity of fansubs and scanlations.

Are there signs that Viz is going to drop it?

I just started the series as I really loved the anime Claymore. I did have a hard time getting a few of the previous volumes, even from VIZ. Strange. Of course I'm new to manga. I only have Chobits, Biomega, and now Claymore. So far so good, I'm enjoying them. Thanks for the article!

The last issue of Claymore I read was vol. 17 and I was like OH S#@!t, this is bad. Was really curious to see how Yagi was going to play this one out. Looking forward to reading vol. 18. I do have to admit the characters do have some interesting personalities.

Merely making a general point that companies and artists can't afford to work for free. If that was the way of things, a lot more people would own Ferraris and toilets made of solid gold that they didn't pay for.

In the case of Claymore, Robert's Anime Corner lists some of the volumes as now being discontinued. I'm guessing interest in the earliest volumes has now completely waned. At this point it's probably a good idea to keep up to date if owning the volumes are in some people's wish list.

"Some character designs blend into each other"? There are no character designs in this manga. All characters look the same. At least the anime is better.
