Edits that I can see so far:
Episode 1:
The part in the beginning where they attempt to bring back their mom - Shortened.
Ending Sequence - Shortened for time.
It seems that other than these two, it was pretty much unedited.

There was no opening in the first episode. And half of what you're pointing out barely qualify as "edits".

Oh, ok. I deleted the first 26 episodes I had since I finished watching them, and because FMA is licensed. I do this because I intend on buying it.

The scene wasn't shortened. Nothing in the show apart from the ED was edited.

Well, they used the 2nd opening (READY STEADY GO) as the ending.

I hope the DVD's use the correct endings. (I'm sure they will, in NewType USA November issue, FUNimation said they won't change anything)

I think they're supposed to do that for the whole show.

Yeah. I think Sony told them to use the 2nd intro.

Don't tell it has to do something with the band name "Porno Graffiti."

It's early, but big ups to Cartoon Network for the relative lack of edits so far. People slam CN mercilessly and ignore when they show good stuff it's unfair. Same with Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.
EDIT: I'm referring to the nonsensical edits.

I wouldn't be suprised. Cartoon Network worrying about concerned parents calling and complaing (besides, what kid would be up that late anyway)

Sony is becoming 4Kids. Shame in destroying any Japanese references.

The L'Arc~en~Ciel opening will show up on the second episode (full-length). The first episode had to fit the required total run time (TRT). We had to shorten the ending on the first episode to fit the TRT.
Fullmetal Alchemist with full op, episode, full end and preview are 41 seconds over the maximum TRT. So we have to shorten the ending. Just like you saw with GITS:SAC.
