I would TOTALLY love to see an AMV using Portishead's "Scorn" as a base. I'm not sure what footage would be appropriate here (maybe from Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, maybe from a melange of anime), but check some of the lyrics:
"I'm so tired Of playing, playing with this bow and arrow Gonna give my heart away Leave it to the other girls to play For I've been a temptress too long Give me a reason to love you Give me a reason to be A woman..." This particular mix (there are others with different titles) lives somewhere between depressing and evil and would make for excellent AMV fodder. I get first dibs on watching it. |

Honestly I think that the best amv would be any romance song with either graavitation or Aa! Magamiesama (Ah! My Goddess) would be excelent!

Hmm, if I would do an AMV based on AMG I would use Martha's Song by Deep Forest (featuring the lovely vocals of Sebestyen Marta). It sounds similar to but much better than the song Dea Cantat (The Goddess Sings) in the AMG movie. Main problem is that the mood in Martha's Song is largey melancholy. But I guess that only makes it a more interesting challenge for a Goddess AMV. Slippery People by Talking Heads would be a cool choice for any anime where the guy gets beaten up all the time (like in Love Hina). The refrain is just too perfect. Wild Wild Life (continuing on the Talking Heads theme) would probably fit almost any anime... hmm, the challenge would probably lie in matching the song with some overly serious-minded anime. Another oddball choice would be Jesus and the Mary Chain's Upsidedown. The way they torture their guitars (yet amazingly it sounds so great) you would just have to go with some show involving mechas in all-out close combat (ah, the sound of metal being rent apart). Some sillier(?) ideas: Sing by Travis mated with images from Key the Metal Idol. Take the Weather With You by Crowded House together with Kiki's Delivery Service. Heheh, Pokemon and Bring It All Back by S Club 7. That should be incredibly annoying. ![]() |

Quickly on the subject of making the videos, yes, Adobe Premier is still used. But more often now, people who have access to higher-end editing programs like AfterEffects and Final Cut Pro are using those. Just thought I'd mention...
If I ever had time outside of work I'd love to make an AMV. My most recent demo reel was a joy to put together, and it was just editing parts of my animations to music. I'm sure I'd have a blast making an AMV for fun. I don't know when I'll have time though... :( |

Me and some of my friends are working on two anime music videos. One of them is for the anime Kite, and the song we're using is "100%" by Sonic Youth. We picked this song because...well, read the lyrics: http://www.lyricsdepot.com/sonic-youth/100.html (you realy have to see the anime to get it).
Another one we are working on is for End of Evangelion. The song we are using is Somewhat Damaged by Nine Inch Nails. Here is the link to the lyrics: http://www.rexer.com/nin/sd.html (again, you have to see the anime to get why we chose this song). We are planning to do some others as soon as these are done. We are thinking of making one out of the Tool song "Third Eye" but we havn't decided on which anime we are going to use. |

I'd probabally make:
A Hellsing vid using Drowning Pool's Bodies, A Trigun video using Metallica's Damage Inc. A Gungrave vid using Static-X's Invincible An Infinite Ryvius video using Gravity Kills' Blame ...but unfortunately I don't have any of the necessary knoweledge, software, or a TV Tuner card for my PC to make them.
