Since I have a DVD player that can play DVDs from any region, I'm collecting a list of anime that's been released in Japan as Region 2 DVDs, with English subtitles. Can anyone help me? Or is there a list out there that I haven't found yet?

I know that everything Studio Ghibli's released has English subtitles, as do the new Astro Boy/Tetsuwan Atom DVDs. What else is there?

I suggest to take a look at this list

They are all movies, thought.

Here is a list of all anime that YesAsia has with English subs. The only thing is, they do go with the Japanese definition of anime, so you will see lots of Looney Toons, Tom & Jerry, Batman, and stuff like that on the list.

Check out J-Box's DVD list as well, which features all kinds of Region 2 DVD imports and extensive synposi for all of them.

Like with all subbed titles, it depends on who the translator is and who is writing the subtitles.

I do believe kusanagi is attempting to compare them to HK subs. I haven't seen an R2 to know, but since they are official subs, I would assume they are at least decent.

It really depends on the movie. I've generally encountered excellent subtitles on foreign DVDs, but then you've got things like the R3 Only Yesterday, which didn't do justice to the movie at all.

Oh yeah, and the Mind Game DVD is going to have English subtitles, too. Judging by the trailer, this movie will be better than sex.
