Haven't had exactly a decent cash flow til just recently again, and as we surely know by now this is an expensive hobby we keep. Anyways, I managed to make it out to Best Buy to pick up the two available GITS:SAC DVDs (love this series, I admit guilt, I saw it fansubbed) and am finally watching .hack//SIGN. But what I was curious about, what caught my attention, was a bunch of box sets for a show called "Peacemaker". Reading the back of the single DVD they had in stock (I garnered it was pretty new, since they had a number of them) it seemed to focus on the Shinsengumi.
Now, I'm a fan of Kenshin, especially Saito and the other Shinsengumi guys, so my interest was peaked. Has anyone seen it, that can comment? ~Ghoul Yes, I'm aware that I rambled a lot there. *edited title of post to clarify* |

I'll tell you this, though. I'm a big Kenshin fan too. And if you like it (Kenshin), please try PMK out. You'll see a little more elaboration in that thread.

Peacemaker is good....if you don't mind an extremely jumbled plot.

Actually, I do consider that the respective encyclopedia pages are useful for getting a basic idea about how's an anime, a basic rating of ANN users and some information. I believe it's more useful the official ADV website for PeaceMaker Kurogane (http://www.advfilms.com/titles/peacemaker/), which, by the way, does appear at the encyclopedia

PMK has a few interesting characters (Saitoh is damn cool
), but also sports a poor story - some of the fillers are horrible as well.
If you like samuraianime in general, or groups like the Shinsengumi and historical chacters such as Saitoh or Okita, then you might like this despite the poor plot (I'll never forgive them for ruining my image of Okita, though  ) due to the well animated fights.
The actual action is better done than in, say, the Kenshin series, and if you don't mind the excessive amounts of animehumour in them, give it a try. |

I saw this and liked it. So far only 1 DVD is out and 1 Manga. How do you know the whole story? Anyway stop comparing it to kenshin.. kenshin was o k .. I prefer Samurai Deeper Kyo over both of these AtM. I did like the story of Peacemaker Kurogane so far.

Heh. I can tell you now that based on what I saw in the first DVD of PMK, the storytelling won't be near as good as Kenshin. The whole supernatural element is cool and all, but I think a better story comes out of an all-human character lineup, but that's just my opinion.
