This from www.anime-ni.co.uk

"The digital TV channel Toonami will be adding an "Adult Swim" item to its programming next month. The 100-minute slot is listed on the schedules for 10.40pm on Saturday and Sunday nights, although there is no information given about specific titles - the description only says "Hilariously off-kilter and subversive cartoons for the more mature audience".

This is good news for fellow U.K Anime fans, looks like turner are finally getting their act together for the U.K.

Dude, we have Bionix. In two years it'll probably be just as good, if not better, than Adult Swim. Not to mention that they air anime at 9:30pm, whereas Americans have to wait until 12:00am at the absolute earliest.

Yeah, but they're probably gonna show the versions "edited" (read: BUTCHERED) for US TV. If they're showing them that late, they can show pretty much any anime (non-pornographic) totally unedited.

Steady on lads and lassies. It could just be a vehicle to re transmit what they use to air when the channel was called CNX. Harvey Birdman, SeaLab 2012, etc.It doesn't have to be anime. Also The UK is a completely different and insular market. and anything that airs here has to be negotiated separately. I can't see the point of it really. Adult Swin exists in the US because Turner Broadcasting US doesn't have an extra channel like our Toonami/former CNX in the UK and TB, UK already transmit adult anime at night with Outlaw Star, so Adult Swim would be just redundant really, but it's their business. Hopefully it will mean more anime but nothing is stated that that will be the case. Hold your fire until you see the whites of their BIG eyes. Shocked Wink

It would seem the above will allegedly be the case, as per a posting at the Anime on DVD forums will confirm.

Quote from AnimeonDVD:
Nope, the block will begin with the comedy shows not the late night anime shows. We don't have the rights to those at the current time.
Will let you know where we go from here with it. As you know, and as I am sure you have heard me wax lyrical about for ages, as a fanboy, I would love to have them, as a guy with a business to run, these shows don't make sense yet from an economic point of view.
This appears to have come from a Turner Broadcasting UK boffin, but no "official" statment has been made by them as of date of this posting..
