I think your taking the show a little to seriously. Its big time light weight stuff but its good light weight stuff. Brian off and enjoy. Its like Scooby Doo, you know old man Smith is the ghost, but finding that out is not really the point of watching, its to see how the characters deal with the problem at hand.

Except that aside from the art this is a pretty mediocre show, and I'd rather not be spending time on something that isn't at least good. This is a Bones show. I expect better from than just passable fare.

This is my thought exactly! Bones almost never disappoints me. Even if the series is not great it's at least entertaining to watch. I'm literally just falling asleep watching the show. My expectations were so much higher and every week I watch the show I find my self skipping more and more wishing it just would not drag on so much. For Bones this is a very medicore show. It's deffinitly better then many other stuff out there right now, But with Level E with its insanity and complete randomness and Saint Seiya With all its fun shonen spectacular and very nostalgic for me. This show just goes on the back burner for now.

ep. 10

But can Victorique solve the really big mystery of the arc?

spoiler[How did Anastasia get out of the building and get into a fancy carriage?.... and how did an emaciated, pencil thin, girl have the power to pull Kujo into her carriage one handed before curling up in her seat like a scared little puppy?] Confused

Rest of the episode was fine, a bit sensational and a little rushed, but fine.

Adrenaline! Haven't watched the episode, was totally unaware of it, so I thank you for reminding me. I've forgotten the events of Ep 9 so I'll have to rewatch that now.

Despite the occasional lapses in logic throughout the series I have still enjoyed every episode so far. Kujo still feels a little bland as a character to me.

I suspect spoiler[that victorique's twin will make an appearance soon unless I've misread what seems to be obvious clues.]

I don't think people are getting as much out of Gosick as a romance comedy as it was intended. Granted it will never get further between Victorique and Kujo than light-hearted interactions, that is really what I love most about this show. Just the chemistry between them is what sets this anime above and beyond for me, and puts it on top as the #1 anime of 2011 so far (with Hourou Musuko a close 2nd).

Best show this season? This is my least favorite show this season that I'm actually watching. I'm enjoying the unintentional humor of the melodrama or plot holes (how did Anastasia hire a carriage looking like she did, and with no money on her?) more than anything else in this show. Luigi made a more interesting character than Kujo, and I will certainly miss him. Kujo and Victorique aren't a bad couple, but they're not much more entertaining than a standard generic guy/tsundere loli couple.

Also, while spoiler[not shattering like glass is one way to check the authenticity of a gem, it can still chip and become damaged. There are safer ways to verify that it was real.]

Yikes. Zero no Tsukaima occurred instantly. I'd say our tastes digress about 75%.

Why would Victorique care about that?

The urchin with perfect memory. He introduces himself properly at the end of episode 10.

I don't understand what this sentence means (I'm familiar with the basics of the show, but didn't watch it).

I haven't watched episode 10 yet but I assume Luigi is the twerp who kept assuming Kujo was Chinese. What an annoying punk, and Kujo didn't even bother correcting him, being the polite and humble self that he is. It's why I admire Kujo and respect the way he presents himself with confidence as a stranger in a foreign land. Kujo may not be particularly an interesting personality but he is a star that presents a stunning contrast to the strange and unpredictable world around him from his point of view.

Interesting tidbit, it sounds like Grevils strange hair style might only have the purpose of spoiler[entertaining Victorique, a bribe for her cooperation.]

The problem with this episode was how could the very begining which is the last part of the previous episode be possible, spoiler[the carriage reeked of plotholes.] And I guess the majority of the audience really had an idea of what was hapening, the mystery mostly just looking for concrete evidence or the character who had not guessed yet. Also I would have liked to known that they had not only spoiler[contacted the families], but also set up informed searches for the spoiler[people who had already been sold].

Apart from that I liked it, Victorique cute little house get me every time.

After two weeks of delay episode 11 is finally up on Crunchyroll. Thoughts:

Although the mystery in this episode was on the weak side, I still thought that this was one of the strongest episodes yet. Grevil's conversation with his father at the beginning was meaningful and his spoiler[confrontation with the "Gray Wolf" at the end] was brutal. There's a lot of emotion charged in that whole sequence.

Also note what's sitting on Grevil's desk in the final shots.

Each week?

I'm a Bones fan. I enjoyed Soul Eater, even though the second season was BS. I enjoyed Eureka Seven, even though the plot was BS. I very much enjoyed Brotherhood, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, Darker Than Black... While I haven't watched the half of their shows, for me, Bones always manage to deliver relatively good entertainment, if you're not too picky. It's the kind of shows that you just go along with, even if you're not particularly interested. But I found myself surprises when I was falling asleep half-way through Gosick's first episode. I can't really put my finger on it, but it was just so uninteresting... And I gave up at the end of the episode, never again to watch another episode again until I have watched every other series I want to watch.

I'm surprises you, and other people who don't particularly like the show, are suffering through it all the same, as if just for the sake of it. Why?

Man, Grevil looked simply awesome. I think it's the first time in my entire life I've envied another man's appearance -- turns out it's a fictional man.

I also loved this episode. We got plenty of Victorique, outstanding character development (by now it should be clear that Bones is about characters, not story or plot), funny episode title (couldn't help but laugh... wonder if the translation is accurate), and more. I think that my deductions that Grevil does love his little sister is getting closer to a revelation. But I always thought he does what he does solely because of Victorique, but now that it's been shown that spoiler[he loves the superintendent's] (or whatever the devil) wife I'm not so sure about that.

And with this my season's top 2 have been solidified. I don't really wanna choose a first, but it's definitely Kore wa and Gosick on the top. I'm indecisive about the third, but it could very well be Yumekui or Freezing. Man, to think Fractale would fall like an old lady on a slippery floor. Or rather, it's more like the others climbed.

Because we keep expecting it to get better. There's an obvious implied overarcing story here with Victorique and that magician guy and the Gray Wolves or whatever they are, and I for one had been hoping that we'd start at least getting pieces of that story (I'm not counting the couple 3 second scenes hinting at characters who haven't been established yet).

But you're right, it is pointless to force oneself to watch a show you don't like. I watched all of Mars Daybreak, which is arguably more generic than this show (for an anime, at least), but I had fun watching that. But this week I saw the new episode up on Crunchyroll and I just couldn't bring myself to watch it. The previous mystery was solved, and I just don't care enough about the characters. That's as good a stopping place as I'm going to get.

Did I miss something or did we never find out what the reason for the hair thing was? Victorique seemed pretty certain it was justified but it is beyond me what purpose it serves.

BTW, there are STILL no supernatural events that some people were (still?) insisting were there.
