"Therefore, he wants to do an ordinary slice-of-life story with the characters instead. "
Not surprising since its predecessor NGE did this first with the Angelic Days / Girlfriend of Steel, among others. Don't really want.
Ideon was a great anime, though I'm not sure how he plans on continuing the storyline, as the ending was pretty final.

A side story of Madoka Magica... With a slice-of-life theme... Hrm, sounds interesting, but I don't think I'll watch.

Hahahah is it just me or does it look like Madoka REALLY wants to turn into Evangelion? We're already getting started on the endless weird slice-of-life spinoffs!

For a minute there, I thought Shinbo and Tomino are working together on a new Madoka project.

This just sounds like a bad idea. I'm for a Madoka sequel but a ordinary slice of life side story after all this, sounds so incredibly dull.

I guess a slice-of-life version of "Madoka" could be interesting, but only if it is, in fact, a side project.
The news of a new "Ideon" project is pretty surprising, though. I personally would like to see how a complete remake would turn out, but I get the feeling that's not what it'll be.

Too bad Tomino isn't at all depressed or crazy as he was back when it wrote Ideon. Shame, Old Tomino and Urobuchi would have made a hilarious combination.

Madoka is awesomely amazing. I'm all for a prequel/sequel/sidequel with a similarly strong plot. But please don't ruin it by turning it into some kinda K-ON clone...

I guess Tomino is being angry that Eva is having a resurgence thanks to the compilation movies, and is going to haul out Ideon to do...what? Blow MORE 8 year old kids' heads off? Then again, Happy Tomino isn't as great as a pissed off, murdering Tomino....So let's hope it isn't a cop out like the Zeta movies.

hm...well while I do like Madoka Magica, i'm not exactly clamoring to see it in a slice-o-life format after all this...
I was thinking it'd be nice if they could find a way to make a sequel out of Madoka, but eh....
whatever, i'll try it.

If Tomino is still of the mindset he had when he made Turn A Gundam and Overman King Gainer than this would be one interesting series. Overman King Gainer didn't have a single good guy die (not counting the one sympathetic villain that committed suicide). Just look at the ending where it's revealed that one guy survived falling into the deepest lake in the world during winter

Silly Tomino. There's already a watchable version of Ideon. It's called Evangelion.
Tomino is probably my favorite anime director, but Ideon isn't great and Be Invoked is a glorified snuff film.
At least I know he survived the quake/tsunami now.

Do not want.
If they make any more Madoka, I want it to be "heartwarming" in the "****, you really took us seriously? HAHA!" sense.

I've just realized this. Would a slice-of-life Madoka series be like in a form of Hidamari Sketch?
