Hooray! what I've always wanted. Now I hope they sell them for other series, and other companies should start doing this too.

This is great to see ADV take the initiative on selling empty boxes and I echo the sentiments for other companies to follow suit.

I would have rather seen a 7.95 or 8.95 pricepoint tho since it is just the box without the other items each would have contained.

And I also worry about the condition these empty boxes will arrive in since boxes have a lovely wave of caving in and otherwise getting beaten up during transit.

That's one of the negative sides of ADV's flimsy boxes.

From what I have heard and looking, the boxes that are available are only the chipboard boxes. I would aslo bet that they will be shipped nicely and if they become damaged in the mail, they would get replaced. The post office takes responsibility for damaging goods and if your package comes damaged, just refuse to sign for it. Also I dought ADV would purposely mail you damaged goods, they are a business of course.

Regular sized manga fit in these boxes (like dvd).
But 10 dollar a box? man that's a gip.

Good. Now I can buy the Full Metal Panic box without all those unnecessary items that came with it.

As for the boxes caving in, I'm sure they will put some sort of packaging protection so that they will ship without damage.

I don't see what the problem is with paying $10 for the box alone. When you pay for the DVD and the Box they raise the price by $10 (Single DVD - MSRP $29.98, DVD+box MSRP $39.98) so why should selling the box alone be any cheaper?

Box + DVD + Extra + Deepdiscount = 29.99

They should start making more box for manga. Manga need homes too.

An art box for manga? Not a bad idea; that would be a good way to get me to start buying more manga^_^

I hope Bandai will start doing empty boxes; they need a Cowboy Bebop box and a .hack box; then again, I think .hack//SIGN is getting a complete set release so it doesn't really matter^_^

Ha, ha. But it pales in comparisson to my Limited Edition box that looks like a pentagon thingy. After all, I paid $150 for that thing .

By the way, does any one know if the new Escaflowne box set is going to be a brick?

He is comparing the Recommended Retail Prices for both items. If you were to factor in DeepDiscountDVD's prices into the box+v1 item, you'd need to take that discount and apply it also to the standard edition, therefore making the entire deal mostly the same (there'll always be a 10 or 9.50 price difference no matter what).

Besides, these are being made available direct from Distributors, not from any outside sites, therefore it's a given they'll probably charge the full ammount.

Eh, if they were cheaper, I'd get 'em, but $10 is bit much for me to shell out for some cardboard.

Correct, and not only that, but these are also limited and exclusive, two more reason these are full price.
