With the Kanokon OVA's MB should have just grouped it together with the Completed collection it is releasing this month. It doesn't make sense to release the TV series and the OVA's in two release. It should just be one.

Agreed. Doesn't matter much to me since I'm not buying it, but that would've have been a better move, I think.

Anyway, I've been wanting to get Moribito for a while, since I didn't make it to the end when it aired on Adult Swim way back when. Didn't it get released on blu-ray recently, if I'm not mistaken? Since the animation in that show is so damn beautiful, I think I'll wait until I upgrade into HD to get that series. I do wish that Media Blasters could make some better box art for the series, though.

I'd like to know how good it looks by anybody who's getting it, though. If anybody has it and has an opinion on the quality of the blu-ray, I'd appreciate it if you filled me in on it.

Chris Beverage did a review of it on mania.com. He said it looks pretty good, albeit there is no pics in the review

http://www.mania.com/moribito-guardian-sacred-spirit-part-1_article_126978.html

If someone on blu-ray.com does a review there will be pictures, but I dont' know if someone will review it or not.

Not interested in any of this, but will definitely be getting the Moribito BD sooner rather than later.

Ya... They should of grouped the OVA with the complete series. I dont understand the reasoning. Im still buying it though. I love Konakon. Im probably going to try Magical witch to. Sounds interesting.

But is this really it? seems way to little.

Honestly, this is pretty much the norm for most, if not all, anime liscensing+distribution companies in America who's name doesn't start with an F. Rolling Eyes

So...they're pretty much re-releasing the Moribito boxset for all the stores instead of Wal-Mart and now TRSI? AKA another stackpack that hardly anyone likes?

Seems a bit on the dumb side, but eh.

I'm foaming at the mouth waiting for Kanokon to come out, and now the OVAs won't be out for another 3 months? I want it now! I agree, they should have just bundled both the TV and OVA together.

Ahhh, Media Blasters. How silly of you to try and sell the OAV's separately considering its smarter to bundle them together.

Tsk tsk. When will they learn?

Oh hey.

I can paste links too.

Not to mention every one of those had a singles release so those box sets didn't come out till years later. Whereas with this release you're getting the whole TV series in one single collection.

Also, why does Rightstuf list "OVA Series" under Special Features for the Kanokon Complete Collection?

Also, this thing has an MSRP of $30. That's half of what a FUNi charges for most of their 12-13 episode sets. Y'all are flippin' nuts to still whine about this release.

EDIT: Ah, looks like the first FUNi thinpak of Shana had the OVAs. My bad. Although, they were on the Geneon singles, so it only makes sense for the thinpaks to have them. And again, the thinpak didn't come out till 2 years after the Shana singles started being released.

Funny: X TV DVD 1 got its OVA put onto the first volume.

Honestly, anything less then 3 episodes of an OAV series should just be bundled together with the TV series. 4+ I can understand selling separately. Like Sakura Wars.

Considering it is episode "0" I don't quite get how that is funny? Can you explain?

Wait, so you're saying that a MSRP of $30 for 60 minutes is a better deal than an MSRP of $60(which is a bit exaggerated, since most of FUNi's stuff usually doesn't have that high an MSRP) for, say, 325 or so minutes?

Looks like the only flippin' nuts one around here is you. Razz
