I heard a wile ago that there was a fourth part to the series that was never released but was being continued in the manga. I looked at vol.1 and it was the same as the tv series. So are the covering the whole tv series and then making the fourth part or is what I heard just a lie.

Both versions of Kenshin roughly follow the same flow of events through the Kyoto Arc (except that the anime waters down the first third of the series with unnecessary filler and ruins the story arcs involving Raijuuta & Sano's Sekihoutai buddy). However, while the anime wastes away in crappy filler after Kyoto, the manga features the Jinchuu Arc, which is arguably the best part of Kenshin. If you've seen the Trust & Betrayal OVAs, then you've seen much of the first part of Jinchuu (the events of the OVA are told in flashback), and the godawful Reflection OVA includes a butchered hack job of the last volume or so of it, as well.
Jinchuu's definitely worth the wait, and you won't be disappointed once you're finally able to read it. Fantastic stuff. |

Also you got to remember that the manga came first before the anime. They're not making the fourth part, it already exist. |
