Or anybody else for that matter. I have the "always attach my signature" selected on "yes" in my profile, but I can't see any. Is it me, or is it on purpose?

That's probably because:

5) Signatures are disabled. Do not make "fake" signatures.

Were you refering to that?

Oops! didn't read the fine print, did I? Embarassed
Thanks Sarki-kun Wink However I don't understand the meaning of "fake signature". I mean it's not someone's real signature like one would use to sign an important document with, is it? Question

They mean manually typing out what you were going to have or posting the image each time to make it imitate a signature. For example, if I were going to have, "This world is made of love in piece" in every one of my posts imitating a signature, it is against the rules.

Signatures were disabled because they were cluttering up the forum and us admin types are all old school and prefer to keep things simple. If this is one extreme, (somewhat NSFW) we prefer the other extreme.

We will re-enable sigs in the future, but every person will have the choice as to whether or not they want to see them. The default will be "off."

Images will either not be permited, or will be restricted in a manner similar to what we had before (they couldn't be any larger than 300x45 pixels).

Sigs will probably be enabled in PMs.

The modifications necessarry to do this are, on the very bottom of my "to-do" list.

"WTF" was the first response I had when I saw that page. Mad Good thing I have broadband; if I were a 56ker I might have to disable showing image in my browser. Those pics waste no less bandwidth than spam.

I wouldn't mind if ANN has to disable avatars. Once upon a time there was a browser I had been using named Lynx.... Wink

I've got one question...WTF means What the &@%!? I guess it does, but I've seen it for a long and I want to be sure.

And yes, that page is an extrem. I know other forums which allow signatures, but of course, there are some rules which must be followed, unless they want to be banned Very Happy. That's non comprensive (the website Tempest shown before, I mean).

However, I don't mind if there aren't any signatures. About the avatars...Well, that's different. They make the forums a bit happier and nice, but of course, I wouldn't blast on Staff decisions, and if the avatars were damaging at any way the forums, I either would stop using them.

We could make that an option, but by default avatars would be on.

Yes WTF stands for "What The (Found Under Carnal Knowledge! The acronym used in court books to list prosecutions of Irish prositutes in Ireland.) Wink

That site that Tempest linked too was way OTT. But children will be children. My signature is just a URL to our London's Jazz-fm with a short ad for the "Late Lounge" there where anyone can download and listen anywhere round the World Wide Web. Wink

That thread probably isn't work safe, but it's one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen on the Internet, so deal.

Well, those forums are just too desorganized. You can see it for yourself, at how many different forums are there, the tons of information of every user (as if they were playing a rol game), and yes, either the signatures are excessively big...
