Oh wow. I was wondering what Drops of God was, until I read the synopsis and went "Oh, THAT title!"
I also wonder if Princess Knight will be unflipped.

Drop of Gawd sounds a bit long for something I have yet to read, but I guess the Oishinbo crowd will lap it up. Me, I'm just glad to finally see Ribon No Kishi in whole. It looks a little more interesting than Astro Boy IMHO.

I'm afraid I can't possibly comment on the other two manga titles included, for better or for worse, but at the very least I'm going to keep an eye out for the Princess Knight release and see how that goes. I can imagine that at least a certain person whose name escapes me should in all likelihood be positively jumping with joy though.

Day one purchase for Princess Knight for my part. I've been wanting more Tezuka ever since I dived into Black Jack last fall, and this title is short (i.e. affordable) & notable enough that I honestly can't justify not having it on my shelf. Major kudos to Vertical.

Oh wow, there goes Vertical wearing their awesome cape of awesome again, they put that back on every time I see them announce something.
I will obviously be getting Princess Knight as a Tezuka fan with an entire (almost full already, if I had more Black Jack it'd already be totally full) shelf dedicated just to Osamu Tezuka (I wish Adolf was on that, looks so lonely without it, but grrr volume 1 is so expensive!). So what's missing here form the license department on Tezuka that they might get at some point in the future according to the whims of my hopes and dreams? Kimba? Amazing 3? Barbara? Birdman Anthology? Unico? The Three-Eyed One? So much to grab! Good thing Tezuka made so much manga, Vertical can be busy for a while, yay! I'd also love them forever (I already love them at infinity, this would be infinity + 1) if they could one day reprint Adolf, and maybe grab Roses of Versaille (I have little hope that anyone else will grab Roses of Versailles, maybe Fantagraphics after having published A Drunken Dream though). Actually, I should go grab my copy of Astro Boy: Omega Factor and note everyone who made a cameo and just put that as my Tezuka licensing wish list more than anything else.
Not sure on the other two yet, The Drops of God is a possibility (especially at those prices!), I shall see if the library has it and if it gets my interest first though.

Even with the hint/rumor last spring, I never seriously thought I would ever get to see Drops of God released in English. Today is a very happy day for me.
Three things I collect; books, anime/manga, and wine. Drops of God combines two of my favorite things.
-Though I didn't see a release date for that title in the article...

Yes!
Any day an Usamaru Furuya manga is licensed is a good day!
Oh, and also Tezuka, but that is just a given at this point.
And I'm really interested in the Drops of God manga, as well.
... Basically, Vertical, amirite?!

hmm i was wondering what vertical was going to do after black jack. but even this surprises me princess knight. I thought vertical didn't want to license works that had already been released in English. I was kinda hoping for maybe Midnight because it has a similar tone to black jack and even has him in it.
I'm hoping that eventually Vertical licenses Alabaster because story wise it's one the more unique tezuka stories.

This is so great, since I just starting to buy Tezuka manga. I been wanting to check out Princess Knight for a long time; definitely going to buy this when it comes out .

I'm pretty much a sucker for most anything that Vertical releases, but these three licenses are especially exciting.
I'm particularly interested to see what Usamaru Furuya has done with Dazai's No Longer Human.

Yep, that was the first thing that sprung to mind when reading this. And didn't Justin call this at the time saying that if anyone would license this it would be Vertical?
