ie; Pikachu, Soopy-kun, Bonta-kun, those.. things from Excel Saga, etc.

Mine so far is Bonta-kun, after having just finished Fumoffu. Even if it is spoiler[Sagara] in side the costume, seeing him spoiler[get into a slug fest with that female officer, while yelling FUMOFFU all the time] is just to great to put into words.

Soopy (from Scrapped Princess) was an amusing running gag, and I thought the world of Pikachu during my Pokemon phase in 1998.

TestamentSaki may appreciate this one:

My favorite mascot is Luna from Sailor Moon. Why? 1) she's not a plushie for one thing. 2) She tries her best to keep the Sailor Senshi especially Sailor Moon on track and doing what they are supposed to be doing. Poor thing, she does put up with a lot though - Food gobbling, boy-crazy, homework-hating (exept for Ami) girls who argue a lot with each other and, on occasion, don't really want to save the world like they should. But, just when she's about to pull out her ears...they buckle down and get the job done,

My next one would be P-chan of Ranma 1/2 fame...the piggy perv. And, yes, he is a perv. Why else would he stay in pig form all of the time and then be with Akane...in her bedroom...at night...when she's getting ready for bed...?

Let me try again. Sorry, Tony. I just wasn't thinking X.x

The shiro neko from Black Cat is my absolute favorite. I love cats, and shiro is especially cute. Bun Bun from Ouran is my other favorite, due to the little extra at the end of the first volume of the manga where Hunny is asleep and the twins are stupid and get a stain on Bun Bun. That was really funny for some odd reason.

I liked how the rest of the Host Club managed to cover it up spoiler[by saying they were sharing their tea with BunBun. After all doesn't every stuffed BunBun want to have tea?]

I'd have to say Bonta too, that hard core armored suit disguised as a fluffy dog-ish thing is just too cute.

I also found Maromi from Paranoia Agent to be an adorably creepy little thingamabob, and fluffy but also evil.

Of course, as a group I'd have to give it to Bleach's filler-arc Mod-Souls, especially due to the ending dance they do. Who doesn't love disco turtle dolls.

Ah, my favorite would be Menchi from Excel Saga. Out of sympathy. Seriously, I don't know too many mascots in anime that have to deal with more stress than this little pooch. Her very first appearance she is labeled emergency food, every single time she spoiler[manages to escape some sad cruel fate seems to punish her by dropping her right back into Excel's apartment], and the one time she meets up with a group of fellow canine companions the majority spoiler[either get killed or betray her.] That's a tough life, so I feel for the pooch, but more than that, Menchi is one of the most lovable and entertaining characters in Excel Saga and I can't help but love this dog. I even named my new puppy Menchi.

Sorry, Tony -_-U

Well, as I said, my favorite anime mascot is FLCL's Ta-kun. I've always been a cat lover, and well, there's not really much to explain. When I saw him for the 1st time, in ep. 2, FireStarter, jumping around and later hiding behind Mamimi's bookbag, I thought "KAWAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

From then on, I watched the series in hopes of seeing this little kitten jump around, giving some cuteness to this mad series. However, I was sad when I noticed that not many people remember him, so I use him in most of my fanfics and fanarts, to the point where people at many forums know which pictures are mine because I add him in them. In fact, one of my cats' children is called Ta-kun, since he's totally nuts and jumps all around, according to his owner.

I also like Kuroneko Kukan (a.k.a Kuroneko-sama) from Trigun. The fact that she always appears where you least expect it and that bite she gave to Vash made me laugh. I think there was an audio track where someone asked her some things and she always answered with a 'nya...' (not sure...), but this cat rocks.

Wel, LydiaDianne, I may dislike Sailor Moon a lot, but Luna was my first favorite anime cat. However, Ta-kun and Kuroneko Kukan are my favorite anime cats (and hence, my favorite anime mascots)

I like Ryo-Ohki from Tenchi-Muyo. Just the idea of a cat crossed with a rabbit (cabbit?) is odd enough, but when you add in the contrast that it's both...

- An adorable little scamp that hops around meowing and gets in trouble, and
- A massive war ship capable of blowing up stuff

....well, that's just an unbeatable combo.

Would Kon be concidered a mascot for Bleach? Cause I don't know why he would have such a perverted/funny attitude, even though he's just a stuffed animal. Anime smallmouth + sweatdrop

I kind of like Ura from El Hazard (another anime cat). It sure would be useful to have a kitty around that can double as body armor. Also, Ura has a bit of a sarcastic sense of humor, which is always a plus in my book.

There certainly seems to be a lot of cats around as mascots. Why is that? Is it because cats are considered more independent while dogs are considered more pack oriented?

Does Mokona qualify as a mascot? MKR was the first manga I bought myself and Mokona has remained quite memorable to me. Plus he/she (does anyone know it's gender?) is one of the rare little anime 'mascots' that doesn't annoy me.

There's a lot of strong contenders here... but I might go with a cat myself here. Of course, I'm not just going to go for any old cat though, I'm gonna have to go with the girl cat that's got a killer uppercut: Tama from Kamichu!

I mean, come on: spoiler[The cat talks, is always caught doing things she shouldn't be doing and then tries to play it off like it's nothing (i.e. shadow boxing, doing the dishes..), there's a god inside of her, and she takes on an immortal cat spirit in boxing.] What's not to like? Laughing
