Pretty well drawn and nice looking series, which is rare for me to say because I mostly care about plot. Biggest thing annoying me was Menma's character, with over-the-top moe characteristics. Some ok drama, but maybe a bit shallow, and not as dramatic or tragedic as it's trying to be. And I did find it a bit creepy and awkward how people were obsessing about a dead person, which made it difficult for me to relate to the characters. |

I loved the eerie atmosphere and the mystery revolving around the school class. And the series really does not shy away from violence, death and gore, which was glorious. It also keeps viewer unsure about the faith of the main characters, who were very likable. Only complaint is that that the plot has too many artificial delays and cliffhangers. |

Has really epic setting and interesting story. There's a lot of death and gore, and you are never sure whether things will go according to plans, and whether the characters will survive. I like the sense of despair you get in many episodes when things start to go wrong and all hope seems lost. Action is sometimes a bit discontinuous, i.e. during fights there's often lots monologue and people just standing around. Unfortunately the story is not finished, but hopefully the series will continue. |

Starts out quite slow and I actually stopped my first attempt at watching the series after couple of episodes because it felt too boring. However it is well worth watching the entire series. It has beautiful storytelling with plenty of sad and happy moments, and the world where the story is placed is fascinating. Soundtrack is one of the best I've heard and fits the series well. |

The plot is extremely captivating, well paced and never gets boring. Very similar to Death Note: a man with super powers wanting to change the world, lots of intelligent mind games, planning and strategic thinking. Amazing and epic soundtrack that supports the action perfectly. |

Very "cool" series, interesting idea and well designed world. I liked the art style, facial animations and hot main character. Overall the series is too pretentious with all the philosophical and surreal stuff going on. Characters are also kind of hard to relate to, especially the emotionless main character. The series has too much filler content, although episode 16 may actually be the best one specifically because it is so mundane, and portrays the main characters in different light. |

Very unique style. But at the same time the childish/cartoonish style makes it difficult to take seriously, and it didn't help that the dialog in the start of the series is very minimalistic. The whole series feels like abstract art which is both good and bad. There are some really emotional moments in the series, and some nice music on the soundtrack. |

The series has interesting premise and is occasionally quite funny. However it annoyed me how the characters are always shouting and having the same childish fights. Their reactions are irrationally exaggerated, aggressive and cliched. It gets repetitive and annoying quite fast. The series doesn't develop the relationships between characters which is dissappointing, and everything centers too much around Kirino. One thing I found weird is that even though eroge is a huge subject in the series, the characters never see it as porn, and sex is mostly a taboo. It feels unnatural. |

Most that was said about the first season still applies, but the second season actually develops the relationships between characters and has some decent drama, which is a significant improvement. However the ending is lame and takes credibility away from the whole story.
It makes no sense in the context of the main characters' previous actions. If they truly love each other as much as the series leads us to belive, they would not throw it away so lightly and go back to normal as if nothing ever happened.

One of my favorite openings of all time. Also really liked the theme and the epic overall storyline. Invidual stories in the athology are pretty good, but maybe too short and unrelated. It causes the plot to advance too fast and leaves characters quite shallow. |

I didn't know the movie was directed by the same guy as "5 centimeters per second", but I immediately recognized the style. And I didn't like it. The calm, dreamlike atmosphere, slow pace, and all the sentimental nonsense made me feel really disconnected about the plot, and I didn't relate to any of the characters. I didn't buy the story either. Lot of the details were either left really fuzzy or they were too implausible: the events before the movie's plot, the politics, the science behind parallel universes and dreams and how they were connected to main characters etc. It all felt just a poorly written excuse for the emotional climax, which wasn't even that great. Overall the movie was too sentimental and lacking in substance, although visually quite impressive. |
