Go to Japan with ANN and PacSet Travel!
posted onIn October 2020 Anime News Network and PacSet Travel will team up for a very special tour of Japan. PacSet was founded in 2011 by Evan Miller, a former ANN writer. Since then, dozens of ANN readers have gone to Japan with PacSet and Evan, and we felt it was time to do something special.
Wanting to do something different from the typical "Otaku Tour of Akihabara," the tour will visit cultural icons such as Dakigaeri Gorge and Matsushima, and visit cultural events you've seen in anime including a University festival, Soba making workshop, and the massive Oeshiki Festival at Ikegami Honmonji Temple.
Of course, who are we kidding, we're Anime News Network, the tour will also visit Akihabara, Nakano Broadway, Ghibli Museum and an anime studio.
All this with one of our current writers travelling with you for the whole tour, and other writers and staff popping in from time to time and joining you for dinner at some of the great restaurants we're going to introduce you to (because what point is there in going to Japan if you aren't going to stuff yourself with delicious Japanese food?).
