Carole & Tuesday A New Character, Flora (CV: Megumi Hayashibara), to Appear in Episode 16
Dedicated to music lovers around the world, this is a tale of a miracle brought about by two teenage girls, created by a top production team featuring Shinichiro Watanabe as supervising director, Eisaku Kubonouchi as original character designer, and animation production by Studio Bones.
Tokyo, August 7th, 2019. The upcoming episode 16 of CAROLE & TUESDAY, which will air tonight on Fuji TV's +Ultra timeslot, will feature a new character: Flora (CV: Megumi Hayashibara), a singer who was once the toast of Mars.
Additionally, from August 7 (Wed) to August 13 (Tues), we will be running the thirteenth round of our Twitter campaign. One lucky winner who follows and retweets the official CAROLE & TUESDAY Twitter account will receive a poster autographed by Megumi Hayashibara, who is playing Flora. What is CAROLE & TUESDAY?
A Studio Bones 20th anniversary x FlyingDog 10th anniversary anime series.
Supervising Director: Shinichiro Watanabe, a charismatic figure known worldwide for his work on
titles such as Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, The Animatrix, and Blade Runner Black Out 2022.
Original Character Designer: Eisaku Kubonouchi, a popular character designer known for his work
on the Nissin Foods “Hungry Days” cup noodles ad campaign featuring Kiki's Delivery Service and
Heidi, Girl of the Alps.
Under this powerful duo, animation production is being handled by Bones, the studio behind
numerous hit anime including Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door, Fullmetal Alchemist,
Eureka Seven, and My Hero Academia, while music—a central element of this story—is being
handled by FlyingDog, a record company that has produced soundtracks for many hit anime series
including Cowboy Bebop and Macross.
Canadian artist Mocky will be in charge of producing the BGM. The winners of the 2018 global
singers audition, Nai Br.XX and Celeina Ann, will be performing the songs of the titular characters
Carole & Tuesday. Music is a major focus of CAROLE & TUESDAY, and in addition to many of the
tracks being provided by foreign composers, all of the main theme songs will be sung in English.
The opening theme “Kiss Me” is being produced by Nulbarich. The ending theme “Hold Me Now” is
being produced by Benny Sings. Other composers contributing tracks to this anime include Lido, a
Norwegian musician and producer; Jen Woods, an American indie diva; Maisa Tsuno, the guitarist
of the all-girls band Akai Ko-en; Evan "Kidd" Bogart, a composer who has produced songs for
numerous major artists including Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Jennifer Lopez; Tim Rice-Oxley, a member of
the popular rock band Keane; Eirik Glambek Bøe, one half of the Norwegian duo Kings of Convenience;
Flying Lotus, a key figure in the LA beat scene; Thundercat, a highly skilled bassist and a talented
artist who came to fame with the recent upsurge in popularity of black music, G.Rina, a Japanese
female singer-songwriter, beat maker, and DJ; Maika Loubté, an up-and-coming singer-songwriter
and track maker who has also produced music for numerous fashion brand commercials; and Taku
Takahashi(m-flo), the track maker of m-flo and a music producer who has worked on the soundtrack
of “Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt” and contributed songs to Shinichiro Watanabe's anime Space
Dandy.

SYNOPSIS
