Nissin Cup Noodle New Campaign!
First TVCM: "Nissin Cup Noodle Present-day Samurai" The present-day samurai who serve their master (Dempagumi.inc) love teen idols and Cup Noodle!

Nissin Food Products Company, Limited (head office: Shinjuku, Tokyo; President & COO Yoshinori Miura) will launch a new campaign for Nissin Cup Noodle. The new campaign's catch copy is, "Samurai, Fujiyama, Cup Noodle." The campaign will be conducted under the theme of "Japan, as perceived by foreigners." Entertaining and original attributes of Japan will be "reverse imported" to encourage the youth of Japan to enjoy this country more.
The first TVCM of the new campaign, "Nissin Cup Noodle Present-day Samurai" will be aired nationwide from Thursday, March 27.
The CM depicts samurai in 21st century Japan as if they'd never disappeared. It shows the present-day samurai getting excited over teen idols and Cup Noodle.
If it isn't fun, it isn't tasty. That is what Cup Noodle believes, whatever the age.
- Highlights of the New CM
The story: Samurai live on today in the 21st-century Japan. In the feudal era, samurai served their masters bearing swords of steel. In the 21st century, samurai bear glowing swords named "Cyalume" and serve their masters: teen idols! It is now an era in which teen idols vie for nationwide supremacy. Modern-day samurai swear total allegiance to their masters with as much passion and forcefulness as their brethren long ago. It goes without saying that that Cup Noodles are indispensable to 21st-century samurai. After all, no army can go to war on an empty stomach.
- CM Filming Episodes
The CM includes scenes of a battle, a nerdy performance, and a live concert. To make all the scenes as realistic as possible, we enlisted the help of top names in their respective fields. For the battle scene, we consulted Seizo Fukumoto, cut down some 50,000 times by samurai blades; and we used Tatsuro Koike, an action director with Hollywood experience. The nerdy performance scene involved super performers in the nerdy otaku world including Keitan, Boto, and Gear Chaso. And, for the live scene, we filmed an actual concert by Dempagumi.inc featuring their real fans. For this film shoot, over 2,000 Cyalume glow sticks were used. We were able to shoot exciting footage of modern-day samurai who lose nothing in comparison with their traditional counterparts.

- Cast (Dempagumi.inc) Profile
Dempagumi.inc is a six-girl dance & song unit consisting of Mirin Furukawa, Risa Aizawa, Nemu Yumemi,Eimi Naruse, Moga Mogami, and Ayane Fujisaki. They are active in many areas of entertainment as part of the Akihabara Dearstage agency. The members are all hardcore otaku (nerds) with specific areas of interest including anime, manga, and games.
They have garnered attention both in Japan and overseas, such as participating in fashion events in Taipei and Jakarta. They also served as the Japan reps for Japan Expo 2013. On March 12, they released their latest single "Sakura Appare-tion," which reached no. 3 on Oricon's weekly charts. On May 6, they will play their first-ever Budokan concert.
