Ongaku Overdrive II, Music Festival For Gamers & Anime Fans, Announces Lineup & Day After Show

ORLANDO, FL. March 18th 2014 – Ongaku Overdrive is a music festival for fans of anime, videogames, and comic books. The second annual event will be on Saturday, May 10th at The Haven Lounge, located at 6700 Aloma Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32792. Doors open at 2pm.

Ongaku Overdrive is happy to have extremely talented musical acts, both local and from afar, come out to perform live at the event! There will be a mix of rock, chiptunes, J-Pop, hip-hop, and electronic music, all drawing inspiration from videogames, anime, comic books, and other realms of glorious geekdom.

New to this year's Ongaku Overdrive is the popular Armcannon, well-known for their rockin' renditions of classic videogame music; otaku emcee Cashamill Anime Boy; chiptunes/pop artist Professor Shyguy; videogame/vocaloid synth-rock band, Final Weapon; chiptunes master and guitar shredder, Danimal Cannon; and last but not least, the legendary teacher/rapper/hero, Mega Ran.

“I'm always looking forward to shows in Orlando but this lineup is a slam dunk,” said Mega Ran, known worldwide for his retro videogame hip hop. “Can't wait to get back out there and play some new jams for the people of O-Town”

Returning to Ongaku Overdrive is the lovely and talented J-Pop artist, Rai Kamishiro, otaku king and rapper extraordinaire, Richie Branson; geek rock band, Sci-Fried; videogame remixer and DJ, Benjamin Briggs; hip-hop emcee and pop culture fanatic, Adam WarRock; and the 16-bit wizards known as MagiTek.

On Sunday, May 11th, Ongaku Overdrive II has an after-party called “The Day After Show,” which will be held at The Geek Easy, located at 114 S. Semoran Blvd. Winter Park, FL 32792. Doors open at 4pm. “The Day After Show” will feature geeked-out musical performances from DJ Roborob, Benjamin Briggs, DJ Cylon, Doug Funnie, Shammers & Shinobi, MC Wreckshin, Eye.Q, and many more!
