VIZ MEDIA EUROPE is pleased to announce the acquisition of theatrical, TV, Home video to “Wolf Children”, for Europe (ex UK).
“Wolf Children” world premiere in Paris
On June 25th 2012, the world premiere of Mamoru Hosoda's new film will take place in Paris at UGC Ciné Cité Les Halles with the Director in attendance.
On the night of June 6th, the 2012 Annecy International Animated Film Festival and Market a “Special Night”, dedicated to Mamoru Hosoda's work will be organized on the Giant Screen of the Pâquier. A preview of “Wolf Children” will be shown followed by his first movie: “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time”.
Mamoru Hosoda went as far as to create a new studio specifically for this film: Studio Chizu. The film was made in collaboration with long-time collaborators Satoko Okudera for the script and Yoshiyuki Sadamoto for the character designs, both were involved in the same roles for “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time” and “Summer Wars”.
EUROZOOM and KAZE are pleased to announce the French theatrical release on August 29th 2012.
“Wolf Children” will be released in France just one month after the Japanese release, on July 21st 2012. France will be the first European country to distribute the newest movie from one of the most promising Japanese animation Directors, seen by many as the rightful successor to Hayao Miyazaki.
Movie Synopsis:
Hana and her two children, Ame and Yuki, are quietly living in a corner of a city. Their life is simple and joyful, but they are hiding a secret: their dad is a wolf man. When he suddenly dies, Hana decides to leave the city and raise her children far from people's sight. They move to a rural town near a luxuriant forrest.
