Pittsburgh's KuroKiiro Festival Welcomes Fullmetal, Soul Eater Voice Talent and Kabuki Actor Kent Williams

October 14, 2011 (PITTSBURGH, PA) - In Japan, fall is the time for school cultural festivals—events planned by students from the top down both for fun and to show off the fruits of the first half of the school year. Otaku and their families from the Pittsburgh area and beyond are invited to celebrate in this spirit at the third annual KuroKiiro Festival to be held November 25-27 at the Boyd Community Center in O'Hara Township.

The event pairs the excitement of an anime convention with a packed slate of panels and activities relating to Japanese popular and traditional culture. Guest of Honor Kent Williams exemplifies this union. He is best known to many fans as the voice actor for such characters as Father in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Mao in Darker than Black, Soichi Nishimura in Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts, and Dr. Gero in Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Kai. However, Williams' credits don't end in the booth. Trained in kabuki as well as several other forms of theater, Williams has taught aspiring young actors for years, including Travis Willingham and Maxey Whitehead. He will be signing autographs and participating in a variety of panels and workshops throughout the three day event.

In addition to Williams' appearance, festival guests have several signature events to look forward to including a semi-formal dinner dance, the KuroKiiro Maid and Host Cafe, and Sunday's KuroKiiro Carnival. Further information on events and preregistration is available at www.kurokiiro.com.
