The new issue of Neo magazine, a British monthly print magazine which covers anime and manga, includes an announcement that this issue will be Neo's last. The editorial by Neo's editor Gemma Cox reads in part:

“It's our 20th anniversary, so we're going out with a bang, as this is also the final issue of Neo. Subscribers will be contacted by our publisher, Select, separately with details regarding refunds for outstanding issues.”

The magazine's final issue is Issue 245 (pictured right).

Neo began in November 2004. As well as anime and manga, the magazine also covered Japanese culture and videogames, plus live-action films and music from Japan, South Korea and other Asian countries. It was initially edited by Stu Taylor, with Gemma Cox becoming editor in 2006.

As of writing, Neo was the last British commercial print magazine specialising in anime and manga. Its demise means that the only continuing English-language commercial print magazines focusing in that area are the bimonthly Otaku USA; its sister publication, the quarterly Anime USA; and the twice-yearly academic journal Mechademia: Second Arc. All three are published in America.
