Game Maker feng's Operating Company Begins Bankruptcy Proceedings
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Credit reporting agency Tokyo Shoko Research (TSR) reported on Thursday that White Rose, operating company of game developer feng, began bankruptcy proceedings through a Chiba district court on September 30. The company has a total debt of 60.88 million yen (about US$561,000) with 43 creditors.
The company's earnings peaked at 160 million yen (about US$1.5 million) in 2007. Since then, demand became sluggish and profits decreased. The company suspended its projects at the end of this past May.
The game developer produced many bishōjo games under its feng label. The Akane Iro ni Somaru Saka game inspired a television anime series (seen right) in 2008 and an OVA in 2009. A Bridge to the Starry Skies (Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi) also inspired both a television anime and an OVA in 2011.
