Indonesian publisher M&C! announced on Wednesday that it has licensed Motomi Minamoto's Nidome no Natsu, Nidoto Aenai Kimi (The Second Summer, and You Who I Can Never Meet Again) manga.

The manga is based on Hirotaka Akagi's novel of the same name. The manga centers on Satoshi Shinohara, a boy who is practicing to perform with his band at his high school festival, despite the school forbidding band activity. Joined in their performance by classmate Rin Moriyama, the band's performance is successful, but Rin later collapses, and Satoshi learns that Rin is terminally ill. Before her passing, Satoshi confesses his feelings to Rin, but Rin rejects him outright, forcing them to say farewell on bitter terms. Months after Rin's passing, Satoshi gets a chance to travel back in time a few months and undo his error of confessing to Rin.

Minamoto launched the manga in Shogakukan's Gessan magazine in December 2016. Shogakukan published the manga's second and final volume in September 2017.

Akagi published the novel in 2015, with a new edition in 2017, both with illustrations by booota. The novel inspired a live-action film in September 2017.

Akagi's Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai (A Boring World Where the Concept of 'Dirty Jokes' Doesn't Exist) light novel series ran for 12 volumes from 2012 to 2016, and inspired a television anime adaptation in 2015.
