posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Crunchyroll Games announced on Monday that it will release the Mob Psycho 100: Psychic Battle smartphone game this fall. The game will launch in the United States and its territories, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. The company also began streaming a trailer for the game.
The Chinese company EGLS is developing the new game. The game will launch in Asia, and then Crunchyroll Games will release the game in English in the territories above.
The "original, turn-based RPG" with full 3D graphics will let players interact with their favorite characters from the Mob Psycho 100 anime. Each character will have an individual move set and cutscene for a special attack. The game will feature the voice cast from the anime, locations from the anime, and some elements from the first season of the show.
Crunchyroll will offer a playable demo of the game at Anime Expo. The convention will take place from July 4 to 7 at the Los Angeles Convention Center and the surrounding area.
The anime's first season premiered in Japan in July 2016, and the second season premiered this past January. Crunchyroll streamed both series as they aired in Japan. Funimation streamed English dubs for the anime and released the first series on home video. The first series joined Adult Swim's Toonami programming block last October. The Mob Psycho 100 REIGEN: The Miraculous Unknown Psychic event anime debuted in March 2018, and Crunchyroll streamed it. Crunchyroll and Funimation later streamed it with a dub.
Crunchyroll is also hosting the world premiere of Mob Psycho 100 II: The First Spirits and Such Company Trip ~A Journey that Mends the Heart and Heals the Soul~ (Mob Psycho 100 Dai Ikkai Rei to ka Sōdansho Ianryokō ~Kokoro Mitasu Iyashi no Tabi~), the all-new original OVA for the anime of ONE's Mob Psycho 100 manga, at Crunchyroll Expo. The event will take place at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in California from August 30 through September 1.
