Crunchyroll, Funimation to Stream Mob Psycho 100 II English Dub, Morose Mononokean II Anime

Morose Mononokean II to be subtitled on Crunchyroll, dubbed on Funimation

FUNimation Entertainment and Crunchyroll announced on Thursday that they will both stream an English dub for the Mob Psycho 100 II anime for the winter season. Both streaming platforms also announced plans to simulcast The Morose Mononokean II anime, though Crunchyroll's stream will be English-subtitled and Funimation's will be English-dubbed.

Crunchyroll is producing the dub for Mob Psycho 100 II while Funimation is producing the dub for The Morose Mononokean II.

As previously announced, Crunchyroll is also streaming Mob Psycho 100 II with English subtitles. Crunchyroll's simulcast will begin on January 7 at 11:30 a.m. EST, and will be available worldwide outside of Asia.

In Japan, Mob Psycho 100 II will premiere on Tokyo MX on January 7 at 11:00 p.m., before airing an hour later on BS-Fuji. The anime will then premiere on ABC TV on January 10. Crunchyroll will also screen the first episode in theaters in the United States on January 5.

Crunchyroll describes the second season:

Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama is an ordinary 8th grader who just wants to live a normal life. Although he can disappear in the crowd in a flash, he was actually the most powerful psychic. The lives of those around Mob and his numerous feelings that softly piles up for the eventual explosion. The mysterious group “Claw” stands before him once again. In the midst of his youthful days, where will his roaring heart take him!?

The staff at BONES is returning from the first season to work on the second season.

The anime's first season premiered in Japan in July 2016, and Crunchyroll streamed the series with English subtitles as it aired in Japan. Funimation streamed an English dub for the anime and released the series on home video. The series joined Adult Swim's Toonami programming block on October 27.

Crunchyroll's stream of The Morose Mononokean II will be available in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Netherlands, Latin America (Central and South America including the Caribbean), and German- and French-speaking Europe.

The anime will premiere on AT-X on January 5 at 9:00 p.m. in Japan, and then on Tokyo MX and Sun TV on January 6 at 10:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., respectively. The show will also debut on BS Fuji on January 8 at 24:30 (effectively January 9 at 12:30 a.m.).

Crunchyroll describes the story:

he job of exorcists is to send yokai living in the mundane world for whatever reason back to the Underworld where they typically live. In order to repay his debt of one million "en" to master of the Mononokean Abeno Haruitsuki, Ashiya Hanae works as his employee, assisting him with exorcisms. One day, when the two of them return to the Mononokean after finishing a job, they receive an SOS from the Legislator, one of three major powers who govern the Underworld. They head to the Underworld immediately, where Ashiya gets caught up in an incident... The story of exorcist duo Ashiya and Abeno and the yokai resumes once again.

Itsuro Kawasaki (Magical Girl Ore, Rental Magica, Shining Hearts, Tsukiuta. THE ANIMATION) is directing the season at Pierrot Plus. Takao Yoshioka (Ikki Tousen, High School DxD, Your Lie in April) is returning to handle series composition. Mizuki Aoba (Minna Atsumare! Falcom Gakuen SC) is replacing Atsuko Kageyama as character designer.

The first television anime season premiered in 2016, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Funimation released the series on home video in January.
